"Mr. Ingraham and his helpers did an excellent job. They had to scrape an entire building and repaint it as well as do interior painting. We could not have been more pleased and satisfied with their work."

"I recently hired this small painter from Camden, Maine, and the experience exceeded my expectations. The quality of the interior paint job was truly top-notch. Not only did he finish the project ahead of schedule, but he also added thoughtful touches that enhanced the overall result. I highly recommend his services for anyone seeking a skilled and efficient painter."

"Mr Edes did a couple odd jobs, he was very professional, reasonable priced for the jobs he did. His attention to detail is unreal. I highly recommend him. He painted my kitchen, and cleaned up and put back everything. Outside he tore down an old deck and built me a new set of stairs. Not even a nail left behind."

"EXCELLENT CONTRACTOR. My project was drywall installation during a bathroom remodel. I chose Golden Rule after reading the reviews and obtaining an estimate. The price matched the budget I had set for this part of the project. The work was performed during four visits over four days (drying periods are required for drywall). Michael showed up on time each day. He was very polite and very helpful with explanation of drywall techniques and also offered advice on other household repairs I might need. The final product was perfect and ready for painting. I am very pleased and would not hesitate to use Golden Rule for any future projects."

Small jobs welcome

"The new deck is perfect. They showed up on time each day and worked the entire time they were here. They even noticed a few issues from the previous contractor and brought them to my attention. Clarke Builders pays close attention to what theyâ re doing. Great, quick work. I couldnâ t be happier. I would hire again, anytime."

"Jon and his crew did a wonderful job painting the interior of our cottage a few years ago. All the windows and stairs needed paint and the lines could not have been crisper. We recently hired Jon to paint a few bedrooms in our house and could not be happier with the results. The house is 18th Century with original plaster walls, the rooms look great! One rooms color did not look right after it dried, so we picked another color and Jon repainted the room, he made sure I was happy with the finished product before wrapping up the job."

Interior Painting questions, answered by experts

If you recently splashed paint on the wrong area of a wooden object, remove it with a solvent or caustic paint stripper. Some paint that has yet to dry may be removable by hand with coarse sandpaper or a plastic scraper. Another trick for removing dried-on paint is rubbing a dab of nail polish remover on the paint to remove it, but avoid touching the bare wood surface.

Scrape softened caulk with a putty knife or slice hardened caulk with a utility knife. Hard-to-remove caulk generally requires more time exposed to a softening solution, like a commercial product or rubbing alcohol. A few hours to a day later, the softened caulk will come off with the help of common household tools. In many cases, you can grab needle-nosed pliers for caulk with multiple old layers and pull the material off its base.

This factor depends on exactly how much paint you remove from your hardwood floors. If it’s just a few small, hardly noticeable spots, refinishing won’t be necessary. However, if you completely strip your floors of paint, you will likely need to sand and finish them.

WD-40 is an effective way to remove glue and other sticky residue from many surfaces, including wood. Spray the WD-40 on the area, allow the product to sit for a few minutes, then carefully wipe away the residue. As with other adhesive removal methods, test the WD-40 on an inconspicuous spot first to ensure it won’t damage the finish.

You can sand paint off a wall. However, it's difficult and time-consuming. Depending on why you wish to remove the paint, there are simpler ways to achieve similar results. Scraping off any loose paint and applying a skim coat is the most common way to hide a damaged wall or paint job.
