"The Cloud 9 Tubs team were a pleasure to work with. Jeff made sure the work order included everything we wanted and kept us updated on the status as materials were fabricated and shipped. Ron and Ron did a terrific job replacing and re-plumbing our old leaky bathtub, and expanding our shower in the master bath. They are all very pleasant to work with and complete professionals. We would absolutely hire them again!"

"Fantastic! We were in a bind when my tenant called with no water. I called Randy on a Saturday afternoon, Memorial Day weekend and within a couple of hours he replied that he would be there first thing in the morning...ON A SUNDAY!! Sure enough, he and his dad showed up around 8am, assessed the problem (old worn out well pump and leaking pressure tank) and by 9:15 had both units replaced and working with all new electrical line run from the well head to the pump. Fair price and unbelievable service! I couldn't recommend him more enthusiastically! I'll definitely be calling him for some new construction projects we have going."

"I am so impressed. We had a drain that needed work and I called Zoom (via sister company Pine State Services) after our usual plumber was going to be a week or so before they could come out. Zoom offered to come out the same day. The technician was as professional as I could expect and made sure to solve the problem to our satisfaction. Every time he had to go out to his truck and back for supplies, he took his boots on and off at our front door, ensuring that he didn't track anything into the house. If I could have given Zoom an A+ on responsiveness and punctuality I would. We will definitely call them again."

"I purchased a heat pump electric water heater to take advantage of a generous rebate from Efficiency Maine. When looking for someone to install it I was referred to Jophil by a real estate company that I know. I called and was given a time that Kyle would arrive to give an estimate and perform the installation (if the estimate was accepted). I did accept the estimate and Kyle got right to work. He did a nice job and made sure that everything was in good working order before he left. I was very pleased with my first experience with this company and would not hesitate to call on them again in the future."

Plumbing questions, answered by experts

Watch out for professionals who cannot provide a current state license number or fail to mention required permits for well and septic work. In ME, quotes must clearly separate interior plumbing from subsurface wastewater tasks. Be cautious of contractors who provide firm estimates without an on-site visit. Finally, reject promises of immediate underground work during winter, as legitimate professionals always plan around deep ground frost lines.

Helpful?

Before family members resume using water after plumbing work, test your private well for bacteria and contaminants. In older Acton homes, test for lead pipes before allowing children to drink tap water. Secure all septic tank lids and access panels to keep pets and kids away from dangerous openings. Teach everyone in the household exactly where the well pump shutoff is located for fast responses during emergencies.

Helpful?

Ignoring water testing is a major habit that destroys plumbing. Acidic well water quickly corrodes copper pipes from the inside out. Leaving garden hoses connected past mid-October in Acton traps water and cracks fittings during deep freezes. Additionally, flushing wipes or pouring grease down drains overloads private septic systems. Always address slow drains immediately, as root intrusion and ground frost movement turn minor issues into complete failures.

Helpful?

Schedule your plumbing projects four to eight weeks in advance during the busy spring and fall seasons. Always plan underground work between late spring and early fall to avoid Acton ground frost. Locate your existing well logs and septic drawings before contractors arrive to prevent mid-project surprises. Finally, confirm your contractor holds the correct certifications for both well and septic systems, as these require separate credentials.

Helpful?

Start your spring plumbing inspection by checking unheated spaces for freeze damage and testing well water for runoff contamination. During summer, monitor your well pump pressure and watch for septic overloading. Fall is the most critical season in ME; you must disconnect outdoor hoses, check pipe insulation, and pump your septic tank. Throughout winter, closely monitor temperatures in crawl spaces to prevent pipes from freezing and bursting.
