"Great guy, casual approach, does not ask enough questions. As a homeowner, I don't have his knowledge and is up to him to educate a little better. Overall, very, very good."
"Sentri Homes provided the most professional flooring service I’ve ever had. The LVP installation turned out absolutely beautiful, and I was amazed at how quickly everything was completed without sacrificing quality. The crew was fast, accurate, and extremely detail-oriented from start to finish. Everything was installed cleanly, precisely, and with real craftsmanship. The entire process was smooth, efficient, and far beyond what I expected. I would absolutely recommend Sentri Homes to anyone needing flooring installed."

"I express my gratitude to Bill and his staff at Flood Crew LLC enough! A month before I sold my home they cleaned the carpets; 2 days before closing I called Bill back due to water damage to the home. Bill was onsite mitigating the water damage within 40 minutes of my call to him. They were quick and professional with their water mitigation efforts and were also GREAT with managing the repair/renovation work. He went above and beyond due to my unique situation with the home sale. Thanks Bill for your calm, kind and professional manner. I hope I never have water damage again as it is devastating BUT if I did I would use Flood Crew again in a second.... and will certainly refer them to others!"
"Loay Jabbar provided the information I needed quickly and clearly. I immediately signed up for full coverages for our two homes because of the discounts offered and because of the quality of service that Loay is saying and promising Choice Home Warranty provides to its customers. I have bad experiences with other home warranty companies so I am hoping I found the best company that would deliver the best service."

"You get what you pay for. The Angies List deal was $999 for four rooms painted. Turns out this does not include ceilings and trim. I think this deal is intended for people who are tired of the color of their rooms and want to freshen things up. But if you want to have rooms seriously painted, it turns out it costs much more. We ended up paying $999 to have two rooms painted with ceilings included and a little more prep, and $200 for the trim, and $175 for the paint. So $1,375 for two rooms. The quality was ok, nothing great. One person did mud and dealt with other imperfections, the other painted. Two people, and 10 hours total, all in one day. In the end, the thing that bugged me the most were that they couldn't paint straight lines between walls and ceilings and walls and trim, and they didn't fix imperfections that wouldn't have taken much additional time to fix. The way you can tell a nice paint job is by the absence of errors, by straight lines. Nothing catches your eye. All you see is color and flat smooth surfaces. Talk is cheap, quality takes effort. To their credit, they threw in a few extras and they were conscientious and worked hard. So if you're not a demanding customer, they'll do fine. I guess I'm a demanding customer."
Custom Home Builders questions, answered by experts
Yes, you can finance new construction, though the process often requires a different type of loan than one for an existing property. There are several financing options available:
Construction-to-Permanent Loan: This is a common option where a single loan covers the building costs and then converts into a traditional mortgage once construction is complete and you move in.
Construction Loan (Stand-Alone): This type of loan provides funding only for the duration of the construction project. Once the house is built, you will need to pay the loan in full, typically by securing a separate, standard mortgage.
Builder Financing: Some custom homebuilders offer their own financing options, which may only require a down payment to begin the building process.
Bridge Loan: This can be a useful short-term loan to fund your new construction while you are in the process of selling your old home.
Home Equity Options: If you are building a second home, you might be able to use a home equity line of credit (HELOC) or a cash-out refinance on your current property.
It's also important to be aware that some lenders may have restrictions on financing for DIY house builds, so be sure to verify that you can secure financing before starting your project.
Ranch and colonial-style homes are often the most affordable to build. They have a common layout with available designs that are easy to adjust in simple ways without having to spend too much on a structural engineer or architect. Both types of homes' symmetry, simple roofs, and often one or two-story plans mean they often fall in the $150 to $200 square-foot range, putting them right around average.
The early stages of building a house are harder than the later stages; laying the foundation and framing the house are two of the most challenging steps. However, it varies for everyone. Some people have difficulty installing HVAC, plumbing, and electricity, while others find it harder to plan the house and secure the necessary permits.
Whether it’s more affordable to gut a house than build a new one depends on the markets where you'd be buying and selling. However, it’s usually less expensive to renovate a home than to build new construction.
Most homeowners pay between $100,000 and $200,000 for demolition and remodeling costs, whereas the average cost to build a new home is between $139,000 and $531,300.
On average, the cost of a home builder is about $150 per square foot, but that price can range from around $100 to $400 per square foot or more. That puts the typical price range of a standard, 2,000-square-foot house between $200,000 and $800,000. Some factors that affect the price of hiring a home builder include the following:
Location of your home and the living cost in the area
Type of foundation and framing you choose
Quality of the building materials
Footprint and layout of the house
