"I had a security system in place that had transferred ownership to 3 companies in total. I needed service on the system and received poor customer service and outrageous pricing for a small service needed. That inspired me to look elsewhere for a new security system provider. You can find dry lubricants, some of which are made specifically for locks, at most hardware stores.

Many local hardware stores have the equipment to copy basic keys at a low cost. Some locations may have freestanding machines where you can pick out a blank and insert it and your original key into the duplicating machine.

Most door knobs can be removed with a Phillips or flathead screwdriver. If you don’t have either of those available, a paper clip or small pin can sometimes work, but the extra effort may not be worth a quick trip to the hardware store.
