"After watching Cowboy Painting meticulously update the exterior of a home across the street we hired them to paint the exterior of our home to include two large decks. From the first meeting, Sam and Calla were committed to answering our questions, helping us choose the PERFECT color for both the home and decks, and the utmost care and respect for our property. Both Sam and Calla were onsite every day and allowed enough time for set up and clean up while still putting at least 8-10 hours of painting. The covered the appropriate surfaces of the home and gardens/grounds to protect them and cleaned up the property EVERY day prior to leaving. Sam and Calla were pet/kid friendly and working around a brand new puppy who needed to go out frequently and young kids who asked many questions. They use the highest quality Sherwin Williams products to ensure that their craftsmanship lasts. If you are looking for an honest, owner-operated, HARD-WORKING company to paint your home, choose Cowboy Painting!! They will work to ensure you LOVE what they have done to transform your home."

"His work was outstanding in all respects. He was completely trustworthy.  His price was right in the middle of all the estimates I got. In my case he stuck to his estimate but he didn't find any unexpected damage while he was working either. He did the job in 4 hours less than quoted maximum time frame. I'd have no hesitation in recommending his services are using his services again.

"We are very pleased with the attention to detail and thorough way that Chet Higdon and his crew painted our home and repaired siding, windows, decking and screens that had been damaged by exposure to the elements. Stacey Steinberg, Chet, and everyone from Keenwick were very courteous, friendly and helpful through the entire project. We are very pleased and recommend them highly."

Deck Staining questions, answered by experts

The best exterior paint for the job of painting your front porch depends on the material you’ll be painting. Acrylic paint is often recommended for a wooden porch as it’s durable and easy to apply. If your porch is made of concrete, you’ll need to find a formula suited to that material.

If your biggest concern is making sure your deck doesn’t show dirt, opt for a darker neutral color that blends in well with your surrounding landscape. A rich brown or dark grey are both good options that work with a variety of house colors. A high-quality acrylic paint is easy to clean and maintain, so it might be worth spending the money on.

The best type of paint for concrete exterior surfaces like concrete porches, steps, or walkways is high-quality exterior-grade paint with strong weather resistance. Acrylic latex blends with tiny anti-slip particles will help create an anti-slip coating for your concrete porch. This type of paint will stand up best to the elements, especially rain, snow, and ice. An exterior epoxy will also help strengthen your concrete porch.

For homes in areas with extreme weather, high heat, or intense sun exposure, high-quality acrylic paint is the best option. Acrylic paint is durable, resistant to both heat and cold, and provides a protective barrier with excellent UV resistance. For best results, look for acrylics that contain natural earth pigments, which are better suited for resisting sun damage. While oil-based paint is also durable, it can be prone to fading in high heat and can become too viscous to apply easily in cold temperatures. Additionally, choosing a neutral or light color like gray, beige, or white can help, as these colors absorb less heat than darker shades.

Painting a damaged pool deck is not recommended if the substrate is crumbling, cracking, spalling, or otherwise actively deteriorating. Continuing deterioration will result in the paint also delaminating or flaking off the damaged surface. Minor damage such as chips or hairline cracks that are not actively deteriorating can often be repaired enough to paint over. A damaged pool deck with a lot of cracking and deterioration should be replaced for best results.
