"Jim responded promptly to my order placed on Angie's List for the Remote Computer Tune Up & Repair Deal.  He cleaned up the computer remotely, which was running very slowly, and required frequent re-boots.  Computer is running much faster now.  Great service.  Would highly recommend.

"I bought the Big Deal for services from Creative Hands Home Services because we needed some sheetrock repair after a plumbing leak, and had other household repairs as well.  The team showed up early and got to work immediately.  They were productive from the minute they walked in the door, had our to-do list in hand  already, and easily grasped what we needed to have done.  They got through our initial list within the time budget I had purchased and even were able to do one or two other things before they left.    Throughout they were attentive, careful of my house, and professional. Garry and crew will come back to finish some painting associated with the sheetrock repair, clean the roof, and  replace a light fixture.  We have also asked for estimates on more extensive work such as interior painting and finishing part of the basement.  I am in the real estate business and have had a number of handyperson crews to my home for repairs.  Garry and his team exceeded expectations and I would re-hire and recommend them to anyone looking for a quality company as your go-to team.  "

Screen Repair questions, answered by experts

It is generally recommended to remove window screens for the winter, especially in climates with heavy snow, freezing rain, or frigid temperatures. Removing them helps prevent damage to the screen mesh and frames that can be caused by ice and moisture buildup between the screen and the window. Taking out the screens also allows more natural light and warmth into your home during shorter winter days and makes it easier to clean your windows thoroughly. In warmer climates where harsh weather is not a concern, the decision is more about personal preference; some homeowners prefer the clearer view, while others leave them in for convenience.

Many kinds of window screens, such as solar screens, are designed to reduce the amount of harmful ultraviolet rays that pass through them and enter your home. The materials typically have UV-blocking properties. However, they may not completely eliminate all UV rays from passing through your home. Different window screens are designed for different purposes, and not all are designed to block or reduce UV rays. Do your research to make sure you’re getting the type of window screen to suit your needs.

Solar screens are low-maintenance but benefit from occasional cleaning with mild soap and water. Avoid using harsh chemicals or pressure washing, as these can damage the mesh. Inspect screens annually for tears or loose frames to maintain performance. In dusty or coastal areas, more frequent cleaning may be necessary to prevent buildup.

The cost ultimately depends on size, but roughly, the most popular screen materials will set you back anywhere from around $0.25 to over $25 per square foot. Fiberglass and aluminum are usually less expensive at around $0.25 to $0.70 per square foot. Solar screens cost about $7.50 to $15 per square foot, while security screens range from around $10 to $25 per square foot.

By replacing the worn mesh and repairing frames, restoring functionality and appearance.
