"The crew was on time, respectful, and knowledgeable. Owner, Bill, showed us where the water was behind and under our kitchen cabinet. They were able to dry it out while we were out of town, replaced our laminate floors, and gave us suggestions on how to prevent future water damage. Don’t waste your time looking around, go with Flood Crew."

"Treated myself to a Big Deal for $99 (6 hrs of cleaning, or 3hrs with 2 people). This is the 2nd time I’ve had someone clean my house, the previous time was also an Angie’s List Big Deal, about 2 years ago. I was so pleased with their services. Paula and her co-worker worked diligently and left my house sparkling. I have a split level home, about 1,500 square feet, occupied by 4 adults and a furry dog. When Paula arrived we discussed my priorities. They were the 3 bathrooms (one was especially in rough shape) and the kitchen. I told her anything else would be bonus as far as I was concerned. They did a great job with the bathrooms and the kitchen, and on top of that vacuumed the living/dining room, hallway & stairs, and mopped the tile floor in my family room. It was so wonderful to have this taken care of before the holiday season."

"This is the second time we have used the Floor Covering Center and they have done an excellent job both times. The first time was to refinish our hardwood floors so we could put our house on the market. This time, we needed floor created in the middle of existing floor and all of it to relatively match. For not very much money, they did a superb job - you can't tell where the floor was patched at all! Like last time, they were easy to schedule, the price was very affordable, they were punctual and the work was excellent!

"I am completely blown away by their attention to detail and level of cleanliness! My home has never looked this clean. Iâ ve had issues cleaning certain aspects of the home since I bought it from the previous owners, and I thought some things would just never be fully clean. Iâ m so glad I hired them specifically and I will definitely be a returning customer!!"

"My husband and I had been meaning to put up chair rails and new baseboards in our house for probably two months. We had all of the materials sitting in the house, and finally gave in and called a handyman. Bill showed up on time, worked clean, and did an amazing job. We had our hardwood floors refinished a few months ago and it seems like everyone that has been in the house has managed to scratch the floors, so we were a little worried. Bill made sure to put a blanket under his heavy tools so that he didn't accidentally mark the floors. My husband and I were so happy with his work, that we immediately signed up for another day of work with Bill so that he could put up some crown molding in our bedrooms.

Update (Feb 11 2016)
Bill came back to finish up his previous work and put in the crown molding. He was just as awesome as before. If I ever have any more work that I need done I will be scheduling another day. I'm not sure what else Bill does, but he seemed pretty knowledgeable and I highly recommend him."

Floor Polishers questions, answered by experts

Polishing a concrete floor isn’t as expensive as it sounds—it’s actually one of the more budget-friendly upscale flooring options out there. On average, it costs $4,500, with most projects falling between $1,000 and $8,000 . When you’re working with an existing slab of concrete, you skip material costs entirely, so it’s even more affordable. If you want a glossy, durable floor without paying hardwood or tile prices, polished concrete delivers serious shine without the sticker shock.

Wood floors should be polished every two to four months to maintain a shine and to keep them protected from daily wear and tear. More frequent maintenance includes dry mopping the floors daily and cleaning spills immediately, using a spray mop and cleaner weekly to remove any built up dirt or grime, and sanding and refinishing the floors every three to five years.

Sweep daily, use appropriate cleaners, and avoid abrasive tools to maintain the shine.

After carpet removal, prepare for new flooring by assessing the subfloor. You will want to address any imperfections to create a smooth and level base for installation. Remember, proper subfloor preparation is crucial for optimal new flooring results. Consider repairing and replacing damaged areas for a stable foundation. For both wood and concrete subfloors, consider sanding to remove any debris or adhesives remaining thoroughly.

Distilled white vinegar can help you remove candle wax from surfaces like countertops. You’ll need to scrape off most of the wax and use the distilled white vinegar to help soften and remove the rest and leftover residue. Keep in mind that while it’s possible, using distilled white vinegar isn’t an effective method for removing wax compared to the methods listed above.
