Customers say: Super punctual

"Tess was warm and friendly from the moment we met her, and I thoroughly enjoyed having her in my home. We met for about 3 hours and came away with a great vision for the room. She created sketches for us on the spot, helped us select a paint color and various items for the room (new lighting, small furniture, artwork), and provided a detailed, written list of those items and where we could find them. For example, we agreed on two new chairs to flank the existing DR table and introduce color into the room; we then looked online together at some possible options for those chairs, and then she jotted down the names and locations of the top couple options, so that we can make the purchases when we're ready. We went through a similar process with lighting, artwork, etc.
One thing she did that I loved was make the entire process feel manageable. I'm easily overwhelmed by the choices that need to be made when redesigning a room, but Tess helped create an overall vision and then worked with us step by step through each decision point. She also left us with a set of immediate next steps, so that after our appointment, we could move right ahead with the room.
Another great thing was that immediately after our appointment (I'd say within just a few hours of her leaving), she emailed me a mood board based on what we'd talked about. I was really impressed and have found that board incredibly helpful.
I will definitely contact Tess as we tackle additional rooms in our house!

"OUTSTANDING - I will absolutely have JP McCurdy back again for further Electrical Work. The two electricians were polite, professional, and kept me in the loop asking any questions they may have had regarding my over sized light. (centering & having cords different lenths etc). I was more than pleased with the work I received."

"George and Alex went out of their way to be flexible, professional and customer oriented.  They worked around my schedule and were able to complete my project in a timely manner.  They always showed up on time and made sure the house was cleaner than they left it.  George took the time to consult with us on our wants and needs and didn't try to tack on unnecessary extras.  They made sure to design the layout of the new lights for maximum appeal.

"It went very well! Joseph and his partner came out to our condo twice. Once for the initial cleanup and patching, and again to paint the entire ceiling. Joseph was easy to communicate with, professional, quick, and thorough. The repair job was seamless--the bathroom ceiling looks like nothing ever happened!"

"George was responsive and direct.  He is busy so we waited a month for our appointment but that is to be expected and was not a problem.

Installed LED fans and left "regular" switches from old fans instructing us to change them to LED compatible.  After several visits from electricians and visits to lighting stores we learned that regardless of the switches, these fans could not be put on a dimmer, made a loud humming sound, gave off an ugly green/yellow dim light and the fan only worked at one speed - we needed new fans.

With the help and guidance (and expense) of another electrician, we purchased new fans and switches that are PERFECT and I am so happy with them.  If we had just left the original work, I really was beginning to hate the upstairs of my home..."

"Toshio did a fantastic job installing a Bamboo gate in the rear yard of my home. He came two times before making the gate, took all the measurements with greatest accuracy. He then sent me the CAD drawing of the gate to review. After some discussion he adjusted the drawings so that the Gate will fit with high precision between the house and the fence..
On the day of the installation of the Gate, he first removed the old wooden gate and with great focus installed the new Bamboo Gate. Toshio also worked on the wooden fence. The Bamboo Gate can be latched by a rope to a post. This is a big advantage during a hurricane or a storm as there will be no noise of metal hitting.
My Bamboo Gate is the first in my neighborhood and it looks Very Elegant. Bamboo gates have a very long life, are light in weight and looks Exotic.
As always I have high praise for Toshio's workmanship."

Lighting questions, answered by experts

The average cost to install outdoor or landscape lighting is around $4,000, with most projects ranging from $2,000 to $6,000. The total cost can vary widely depending on several factors, including the number of fixtures, design complexity, and the type and quality of the lights used, such as wall sconces, pathway lights, or lamp posts. Other factors that influence the price are the square footage of the area being lit, the amount of electrical work needed, any required excavation or trenching, and local permitting costs. For specific types, you might pay around $100 for pathway or string lighting and up to $700 for lamp post lighting.

It’s fair to be concerned about handling pool lights or wiring in a pool filled with water. But fortunately, pool lights and swimming pools are designed to make it easy and safe to replace the lights without needing to drain the water. Instead, you can turn off the electricity to the pool as a safety precaution, unscrew the pool fixture, pull it up and out to the side of the pool, then change the bulb.

The cost to repair outdoor lighting typically ranges from $100 to $400. The final price depends on the severity of the damage, the specific issue, the type of lighting system, and the parts needed. Some repairs are priced per fixture, averaging $100 to $300, and there may be additional fees if the lighting is difficult to access.

A motion detector light may need to be reset due to a number of technical issues. These can include faulty or misadjusted sensors and burned-out bulbs. You may also need to reset a motion sensor after an electrical surge or a power outage, as these can change a light’s settings and cause it to function differently.

Outdoor lighting repairs typically take between 1-3 hours. The exact duration can vary depending on factors such as the complexity of the problem, the extent of the damage, and the ease of access to the lighting fixtures and wiring.
