"I just hired them this week, so they haven’t started yet. They are doing it the way “This Old House,” does it (knee wall) and the price is very fair considering another estimate, wasn’t adding any foam board over the batts. I chose 5 star reviews and “up to code,” insulation pro."

"Clean Tech Construction was terrific! The team arrived slightly before the scheduled time, removed the old, poorer quality insulation, installed new insulation, including areas that a previous company had not been able to reach, and cleaned up everything before they left for the day. When I initially contacted them about the work, they answered my phone calls within 15 minutes and continued to respond to any calls/questions quickly and politely. I would hire them again in a heartbeat."

"Mike and Kyle were the ones doing work to insulate my basement. They were very professional and the quote was true to what I was told. Worked quickly and were very conscious to clean up afterwards. Would recommend. Thank you for the very professional work!"

"I was plagued with recurring ice dams in a few areas of my roof. After investigation, it was discovered that the insulation in a few visible areas was sub-par. Roland came in and quickly spotted the problem areas. He assured me that the could fix these problems immediately. He used a combination of rearranging existing batts, blown-in fiberglass and spray foam to seal the attic space, over the course of two visits. He's extremely personable and always called me back or answered the phone right away."

"We did not go with them because they were too expensive. They were very kind, very punctual and the gentleman was very thorough. Everything was good as far as the overall coming out and giving the estimate. The price for the evaluation was perfect for what I needed."

Drywall Insulation questions, answered by experts

If the holes in the plaster are small, you can fill them with layers of patching plaster until they’re filled. After it dries, you can sand the plaster and paint over it. If the hole is much larger, consider using bonding plaster first and then a layer of patching plaster, completing the process with sanding and a layer of paint.

Yes, drywall nail pops are a common occurrence in homes, both new and old, resulting from the settling and shifting of the structure over time. Though not present in every room or on every wall, encountering nail pops in different sections of a home is not unusual, particularly if the temperature, humidity, or foundation has experienced changes.

There is no way to cut drywall without making dust, but you can reduce the amount of dust and especially the dangerous airborne particles by using manual cutting tools. Using a utility knife to score and snap your drywall will minimize dust production, and a jab saw for cutting cutouts for boxes and fixtures will generate almost no airborne dust. Even if you use these methods, you should still wear a respirator and safety goggles to avoid damage to your lungs and eyes.

Drying alone can take 1 to 4 hours to dry to the touch per plaster layer, but some types of plaster take several hours longer to dry. However, this doesn’t mean the job is done because plaster doesn’t fully harden until it cures, which can take a few days to a couple of weeks. It may take even longer if you’re building a new, pretty thick plaster wall. Allow the plaster to cure before painting it.

While textured walls can elevate a space in many ways, there are a couple of downsides to consider. Namely, they’re hard to clean, and some textures fall out of fashion quickly. Make sure to consider all your options to find one you truly love before diving in.
