"I recently hired Coen Brothers Construction on a thorough bathroom renovation, and the outcome was outstanding. Their quality was excellent, and I am delighted with the final result. Their sub-contractors were also great and worked at the same high standards as the Coen Brothers. Although we faced some communication issues at the outset, we eventually worked through them, and it significantly improved throughout the project. They paid attention to detail; when my project manager saw me stripping the trim for reuse, they recommended buying new trim and a lumber yard to get it. And it makes a big difference having new trim with clean, sharp lines. Their tile work took longer than expected, but the miter cuts the trim cuts, and the finish is excellent. They were consistently punctual, respectful of my home, and very tidy - tidying up at the end of each day. While the project took longer than anticipated, the reasonable cost and the team's meticulous attention to detail compensated for it. Coen Brothers Construction also expertly handled all necessary permits and inspections, keeping me informed every step of the way. Overall, I am satisfied with their work and would hire them again for my next project."

Moises gave me a good quote to pull up the entire walkway, lay down a crushed stone base, and reinstall the pavers, and scheduled the work within a week of approving the project. His crew got everything done in one day while still paying attention to the details. I couldn't be happier with the work."

"After several attempts to just hire Golden Hill Landscaping & Construction (during a bid process), I finally did. The rates seemed comparable, at first. However, there were many projects to be completed at my deceased mother's house. Because I am disabled and not able to get to the property, I couldn't see how badly I was taken advantage of. Not only did I pay for a job they did not do, I also paid for another job that is unfinished, plus a french drain that is causing a sink hole, and the buried equipment is now above ground. All 3 of these projects pose safety risks. The french drain collapse is only a few months after installation. After bringing these issues to the owners attention (the unfinished project I'd requested be completed for months), the owner began ignoring me. When I mentioned that litigation was going to move forward, the owner said he'd look at the work that week then blew me off again. When they actually do work, Golden Hill's quality of work is atrocious and will need to be fixed. They broke the house vinyl siding when cutting down a tree branch and refused to fix it. I hired a contractor to fix that. They will overcharge (snowplowing is expensive), take advantage of you if you are a senior or disabled, and will try to get paid without working. They should not be in business and allowed to take advantage. I now have to pay someone else to fix their work, finish their work, and do a $375 job they never did. They've been paid over $10,000, with more work to be done at multiple properties. They agreed to do a quote at a second property, then never showed up. One would figure, with that kind if business, a company would want to perform quality work and respond to a dedicated customer. Aroldo at Golden Hill Landscaping & Construction will do a poor job or not at all, blow off appointments, ignore requests, and refuse to fix problems. He will, however, not hesitate to pick up a check. You should not ever hire them. If you do, be prepared to throw money away."

Lauren managed our project from start to finish, implementing a gorgeous design from Sasha. Chris led the onsite team to a spectacular conclusion which was completed in 2 days. "I hired John Caruso of Stoned Masonry and Construction in Newton, MA to replace a trench drain in my driveway. He provided a detailed contract and requested a $2000 down payment for the $4000 job, which I provided by credit card in an online transaction. He acknowledged receipt, and said he would begin work in one week. During that week, I tried to contact him by text, phone, and email concerning his request to leave materials in my garage before he began work, but received no reply. I repeated these contact attempts to inquire about his arrival time the day before and the day of his promised arrival. He never responded and he never arrived. My credit card company will try to recover my money, but I strongly advise you not to hire this person. If you do, definitely do not giver him an advance payment by check!"
