  • Travers Landscape Construction
After many frustrating attempts at getting a reasonable quote to remove (12) trees in my yard, I finally called the right number: Travers Landscaping. Mike Fraser called me within 5 minutes of my inquiry, promptly came to my house to evaluate the scope of work and provided me with a very fair quote. I hired him on the spot and he and his crew arrived on time and did a fantastic job in the removal and clean up. My neighbor hired him as well and I will not hesitate to call them first the next time I need work done in my yard!

  • Cape Home Tree Service
Angel is the Owner and is very responsive. I would highly recommend both he and his crew for any tree removal work that you might need. He gave me a competitive quote to remove a large oak tree the same day that I called. The tree was in a restricted location so a bucket truck could not be used to remove the tree. There was also a structure under the tree, so the branches could not just be cut and dropped. A good deal of skill was required to cut the branches, then guide them safely to the ground. The tree had to be climbed; his crew was very talented, cooperative, and hard-working; and they worked together very well. It took 3-4 hours to remove the tree, grind the stump and clean up the yard. His equipment is state of the art. I will use him again for any needed tree removal

5 trees were removed, brush cleared but roots not totally dug out. Wood chips were spread over the area.

  • Mackenzie Tree Service
I had the pleasure recently ( prior to the Bomb Cyclone) to work with Geoff Mackenzie, and the team at Mackenzie Tree, my experience could not have been better. From the first meeting and discussion of my project, which included taking down five large trees and grinding several stumps, throughout the scheduling process, which required some flexibility from Geoff due to a scheduled driveway installation, to the actual completion of the job it could not have gone any better. During the proposal stage Geoff was thorough in his description of the work, engaging in his approach to a new customer and considerate in his pricing demonstrating that he truly wanted me as a customer and not just the job. I also threw some curve balls at him during the job and he was extremely cooperative in getting those additional items done an at a very fair price. I would give Geoff and his team ( all friendly, and hard workers) a resounding endorsement and highly recommend them to anyone who wants to engage a reliable, fair, and knowledgeable tree service. I feel like I found a great partner and most likely a new friend

  • Treescapes, Inc.
I read the reviews, obtained a couple of price quotes for the work and made my decision. I hired Treescapes Cape Cod, Inc. to take down 6 trees in my yard. They showed up at the appointed time and got right to work. They tackled the biggest tree first. After cutting most if it down, the work stopped. 5-6 guys suddenly standing around doing nothing. Manny, the on-site fellow running the job, approached me to let me know that the price quoted wasn’t going to be enough to get the job to the finish line. It was going be an additional $1,000 to complete the job. So, faced with the prospect of a partially cut tree and a yard full of the cuttings, or to pony up an extra $1,000, I paid. It wasn’t right what Treescapes did. And I shoulda told them to take a hike. What I discovered later is that the company was recently sold. I’m told that Manny is the new owner. So, all the wonderful reviews that I read online aren’t reflective of the way the company is run today. The moral of the story, if you want to jacked up after receiving a price quote, hire Treescapes Cape Cod. Otherwise, maybe consider hiring a different company, or an off cape company when you need work done on the Cape. It’s still no guarantee that business will be conducted properly, but I think the odds are better that it will

  • Mackenzie Tree Service
Hired Geoff after talking to him and his wife about taking three trees down in the back and side of my yard in Hyannis. I was lucky I got on his schedule at all for this spring. Very fairly priced, I had other bids, but just talking to him made an easy decision. Down to earth, regular trustworthy people you can tell from just talking with them. Geoff and the two guys with him were great, they moved patio and lawn furniture and heavy ornamental pieces out of harms way and placed things back on the way out. I also had a tree in the front of my house blocking an ocean view from our top deck for 10 years. I asked him if he could clip some branches and he did for no charge. Big bonus with new ocean views from the deck now! Then I asked him where his next job was. He said where it was and I laughed. It was on a street one town over where I owned another property and needed a large limb cut down on a tree in the driveway that I have wanted that down for years as well. Go figure, what a coincidence! We added a small fee to the bill and he said he would do it while he was over there same day. Salt of the earth folks with great quality work and clean up. Would never hire anyone else. Best on Cap

Tree Service FAQ

  1. How much does it cost to remove a tree?

Answer: Typically, tree removal costs between $200 and $2,000. Tree removal costs vary widely based on the number of trees being removed, the height of each tree, the diameter of each tree trunk, and accessibility to the tree. Smaller trees are usually less expensive to remove than larger ones, as are those that are more easily accessible.

  2. Do you need a permit to cut down a tree?

Answer: In many areas, you don’t need a permit to cut down a tree on your own private, residential property. But some municipalities may require tree removal permits for conservation purposes or to comply with local ordinances. When you hire a tree removal pro, they’ll be able to tell you whether you need a permit for your specific tree removal project.

  3. When is a good time to trim trees?

Answer: In most regions, the best time to trim your trees is during the winter months. During the active growing season (spring through fall), trimming your trees can leave them more vulnerable to disease and less likely to thrive. During the winter months, when trees are dormant, trimming them will cause less stress and leave them ready to grow again in the spring.

  4. What is the average cost to cut a tree down?

Answer: Tree removal costs between $200 and $2,000 per tree. Establishing an average cost can be difficult because each tree will be assessed and priced based on factors like height, trunk diameter, and accessibility. In general, smaller trees cost less to remove than larger trees, as do trees that are more accessible.

  5. How much does it cost to service a tree?

Answer: The cost to service a tree is typically between $430 and $1,320. The cost to service a tree depends on several factors, including what exactly you’d like done, the tree’s height, its health, the location of the tree, and local labor costs. The national average cost for tree services is $865. Tree trimming isn’t necessary for all trees but can improve their health and longevity by encouraging new growth.

  6. What is the difference between tree trimming and pruning?

Answer: While tree trimming and tree pruning might appear similar to the untrained eye, they serve different purposes. Tree pruning is used to thin a tree by removing unnecessary or burdensome branches. Tree trimming promotes healthy growth by trimming but not removing branches.
