Small jobs welcome

"Double Built-in bunkbeds I have been working on finishing my attic for a while and one of the last parts of the project was custom bunkbeds.   I did not have the time to take on this part of the project and started searching for someone take on this phase.   My wife found Peter on Home Advisor and scheduled and introductory call.  Peter showed up on time and was very open about the work he had done in the past and was excited about helping us with the project.  Peter explained how he would handle the project.  There would be two phases, the design phase and the build phase and Build) and he laid out what to expect in each phase.   Working with Peter on the design phase was great, I felt like I was part of the team.  Peter used a 3D CAD tool to mock-up the design and we reviewed each iteration together until we landed on the final design.  This process took about two weeks during which we had three or four meetings to review the updates. Once we agreed on the final design, we moved on to the build phase.  We took delivery of the lumber and Peter started the build.  The project took two and a half weeks to complete. At different points during this phase Peter would solicit feedback which I truly appreciated.  Peter completed the project on time, on budget and the final product looks amazing!  We canâ t wait to work with Peter on the next project"

"Joe was great to work with on the design portion of the project. We took down a wall, added new cabinets, countertops, updated plumbing, electrical and flooring. Joe's son Mark was onsite once construction started. He did a great job of communicating what work would be done each day. Mark and his workers were there each day they said they would be. Rob the plumber was excellent....very helpful in answering questions as we did have some unexpected work come up that needed to be done. Our only challenges stemed from electrical work where our thermostat was disconnected when it shouldn't have been and well as other electrical as well."

Interior Design and Decorating questions, answered by experts

Before hiring an interior designer, ask a few questions to better understand how they work, what’s expected of you, and what they promise to deliver.

  • How long will the project take to complete?

  • What type of services do you offer?

  • Can you provide a project estimate?

  • Do you work with subcontractors?

  • Are you licensed or certified in this state?

  • Do you have a portfolio of previous work I can review?

  • May I contact your customer references?

  • How do you handle change orders?

  • How do you handle payment?

Professional holiday decorating services cost between $300 and $2,500 or more, with an average cost of about $1,500. The total price depends on the size of your home, the extent of the work, your location, and whether materials are included. Simple interior decoration may cost around $300, while a combination of interior and exterior work often totals around $800. For large or extensive design services, you could pay $2,500 or more. Common service costs can include: exterior holiday light installation ($400), Christmas tree decoration ($200–$600), interior holiday design ($50–$200 per hour), and holiday landscaping ($50–$100 per hour). Note that some prices may only include labor, not the cost of the decorations themselves.

Mid-century modern design focused primarily on two things: simple, functional furniture, often with geometric shapes, and specific color palettes that included earth tones and what we’d today call retro colors. Furniture often blended different materials, like teak or oak wood, with vinyl, metal, and glass. Common mid-century modern paint colors included browns, reds, burnt oranges, yellows, aqua greens, and whites.

A pool builder can advise you on the best design for your property and vision, and can walk you through the process from design to a swim-ready pool. Knowing which questions to ask a pool builder can help ensure you choose the right person for the job.

It is usually worth it to hire an interior decorator, especially if you want your home to have cohesiveness and look like it belongs in a catalog. Interior decorators can be quite expensive, but decorating isn’t an ongoing cost, so you can expect to pay once for the service rather than on an ongoing basis. Interior decorating can be especially worthwhile if you’re selling your home, as house staging can make your property feel more welcoming and help buyers envision themselves living in the space.
