"We would definitely hire PAV Construction again for any home project. They were highly professional, on-time, on-budget, always very pleasant, and their work is OUTSTANDING! This was a major remodel of the entire downstairs of our home with wall removal and wall construction, new windows, doors, new kitchen, installation of hardwood floors throughout the first floor, rebuilding of staircase, hardwood flooring in the upstairs hallway, basement flooring and ceiling. The work exceeded our expectations!! it is absolutely beautiful! Pavlin, the owner, offered excellent suggestions for the remodel. His communication was incredible. He regularly kept us updated with texts and photos, and responded to any questions within the day. His crew was excellent as well as talented, hardworking and accommodating."

"We had fantastic work and timeline from Bob. They replastered our textured ceilings over 4 days and did a fantastic job. Bob was quick and easy to communicate with, as well as scheduling (estimate and work days). Several other contractors who came through the house complimented their work and the speed of the job."

"Amazing. Daniel was the first to respond when we put out Internet requests... showed up that day to give us an estimate… Gave us a good price for the power washing and for the staining… However… A pleasant surprise was he also cleaned our deck furniture for us thank you very much Daniel.... and before staining he realized he wanted to sand it and he sanded the entire deck it looks gorgeous… We wanted a translucent stain… The store didn’t have any ...he tried the best thing to it… We said it was acceptable but we really wanted clear… So he waited till a shipment came in the next day and got us the clear… This deck looks new! And as he went along if there were any nails that were coming out he hammered them all back in again ...sanded it smooth, stained it beautiful. We paid a little more for the sanding but in the end we have one new-looking gorgeous deck. We found out Daniel does other type work also and we will probably call him again within the year. You cannot go wrong hiring Daniel! He’s particular in his execution!"

Stucco FAQs, answered by experts

Neutral colors like white, tan, beige, and light brown are the most popular stucco colors. Natural stucco has a grayish color due to the high concentration of Portland cement in the material, but most homeowners have their contractors add pigments to create a more inviting appearance. Stucco is most popular in hotter climates, where it provides ample insulation to regulate interior temperatures and keep the solar heat out. Since lighter colors reflect more sunlight, lighter stucco is more prevalent.

Homeowners insurance may cover the cost of siding repair or replacement, but coverage depends on the cause of the damage. Most policies will cover damage from a covered event, such as a storm, wind, hail, fire, natural disaster, or other impact damage. Your policy might pay for the full or partial cost of the repair or replacement. However, damage resulting from age, general wear and tear, or neglect is typically not covered, and you should expect to pay for those repairs out of pocket. It is best to review your specific homeowners insurance policy for full details on what is covered, how to file a claim, and what documentation is required.

The curing time for stucco typically takes several weeks to fully complete. During the curing process, the stucco undergoes a chemical reaction and gradually hardens. It's important to note that curing is different from drying. While the surface of the stucco may dry relatively quickly within a few hours or days, the curing process continues beneath the surface, strengthening and solidifying the stucco.

It's best to avoid excessive moisture exposure during the curing period, as it can impede the curing process. The exact curing time can vary based on factors such as temperature, humidity, and the specific stucco mixture used.

Homeowners insurance generally won’t cover stucco damage unless it’s caused by a covered event like a storm or fire. You’ll need to pay out of pocket for damage caused by age, wear and tear, lack of maintenance, or faulty installation. Consult your policy for the specifics of what stucco damage is covered and what isn’t.

Most homeowners can remain in their homes during stucco removal, but expect noise, dust, and limited access to certain areas. For extensive projects or if hazardous materials are present, temporary relocation may be recommended for safety and comfort. Before removal begins, seal off the work areas and use air purifiers to minimize the spread of dust.
