"I was contacted right away and they were at the house within an hour of my returning their call. They knew exactly what to do, had all the right equipment and were very knowledgeable about duct cleaning. The job was diagnosed, and completed in 30 minutes which included leaving the work site neat and clean. Great job!"

"Shawn was on time and worked efficiently. He did a great job cleaning the hood and kept the rest of the kitchen clean while he cleaned the hood. He checked his work when he was done. I was happy with the service provided"

"Our family highly recommends Josh and Year Round HVAC. We have an old central AC system in our home, over 20 years old. We noticed dirt in the vents on our wall mounted units and realized that the insides of this system had likely never been cleaned, and we certainly didn't have the tools or expertise to get in these units and deeply clean them ourselves. A simple Google search led to me Josh's company. Even though I live in a town that isn't on his list of service areas, he still responded to my request promptly, and readily agreed to clean and service our AC system. Josh cleaned both of them quickly and a combination of UV Light and steam flushing, and these units have never looked, or smelled, better. Josh could have easily passed on this job, or told me our system was too old and to just plan on replacing it, but instead he enthusiastically took on the challenge and did a great job. Josh was pleasant, upbeat and cheerful, and clearly he loves doing this work. I will gladly call Josh again in the future for all my heating and AC needs."

"Recommend Joslin & Co for window cleaning. Hands down the best not just for service but the great customer service as well. You can tell Nico takes great pride in his work with the care for the building and his customers! He is a really cool down to earth guy yet still professional and quick and efficient in his services! 10/10 in my book."

Sonic Cleaning questions, answered by experts

Maintenance involves regular inspection of connections and cables, ensuring they are free from obstructions and functioning correctly to avoid ice buildup.

Complete house winterization goes above and beyond the list we created above. In addition to everything listed, full house winterization also includes:

  • Performing a home energy audit.

  • Preparing your deck and patio for winter.

  • Learning how to start a snowblower.

  • Replacing smoke detector batteries.

  • Installing outlet gaskets.

  • Installing storm doors.

The easiest way to remove snow from a roof involves using a roof rake that allows you to clear snow from the ground. Roof rakes are lightweight and feature adjustable handles, making them user-friendly for most people. This method also helps prevent ice dams and excess snow buildup, reducing the risk of roof damage during winter months.

When should you remove snow from your roof? A good rule of thumb is once six inches of snow accumulates.

Removing snow from your roof can help prevent ice dams, but the best thing to do is address insulation issues in your attic. If you do decide to remove the snow manually, you should always use a roof rake rather than a shovel. You shouldn’t climb your snowy roof in any circumstance, and roof rake allows you to remove the snow from the ground or a ladder. For the best results, remove snow as soon as possible after it falls.

You should avoid using a pressure washer on any surface or item that could be damaged by the high-pressure spray, as some materials are too delicate to withstand the force.

Key items and surfaces to avoid include:

  • Electrical Components: Never pressure wash electrical systems, as water can cause short-circuits and create a safety hazard. This includes utility meters, breaker boxes, electrical outlets, generators, and HVAC or air conditioner units.

  • Delicate and Fragile Materials: Fragile items can crack, shatter, or be stripped by the pressure. Avoid pressure washing windows, glass, light fixtures, shingled roofs (especially asphalt), and stucco.

  • Painted, Stained, or Sealed Surfaces: Unless your goal is to strip the finish, do not pressure wash painted surfaces, stained wood (like decks), or anything with a protective seal that could be stripped away. Be especially cautious with older surfaces that may contain lead paint.

  • Soft Woods and Certain Decking: Delicate surfaces like softwood, composite decking, and antique or wooden patio furniture can be etched or damaged. If you must wash wood, use a lower-powered pressure washer with a wide-angle nozzle to prevent damage.

  • Living Things: Never use a pressure washer on people, pets, or plants. The force can cause serious injury and will destroy landscaping.
