"So wonderful to work with. They did the painting and wallpaper in my nursery and it came out perfectly, better than I was hoping. They made sure I ordered my wall mural with the correct dimensions and not only was the measurement spot on, but the application of the panels was seamless. Even added a cute wallpaper detail to my light switch cover AND put the crib in the room together. Would absolutely work with again"

"This job was to remove textured paint from the ceilings in 3 rooms, approx. 750 square feet. The crew showed up promptly, and took time to prep the entire work area. The job was ~3 days' work, including re-painting the ceilings. After completion, I noticed some missed spots, likely due to lighting in the house. The company promptly fixed the issues I pointed out, and I'm satisfied with the results. Would definitely hire again."

"Scheduling was difficult. Many days he either came late or not at all. I was left with several rooms in upheaval for weeks as a result. Part of the problem was that one room’s wallpaper was delayed in shipping, but instead of finishing the other 2 rooms and putting everything back, he left that until after the final room was papered. Clean-up was not done well and the hardwood floors were left quite spotted from water and glue. The papering and painting were done well and I am pleased with the result. Paulo did recommend and perform some additional work which came out very nice. His pricing was very fair. I just think Paulo needed to be better organized and did not plan enough time to look things over before finishing up. My biggest reason for not recommending would be the problem with him not showing up when expected."

Wallpapering questions, answered by experts

When installing new steel doors, it’s smart to do other projects simultaneously. This can lower costs, limit mess, and help your home look and function better. For example, replacing a damaged doorframe is wise when planning door installations.

Also consider changing broken or worn-out locks, repairing or replacing weather stripping, and updating handles. Painting, staining, or upgrading the trim around the door can also improve energy efficiency, security, and aesthetics.

You shouldn’t need extra adhesive for peel-and-stick backsplash tile. The adhesive on the back of the tile sheets should do the trick. However, if you experience issues with the tile peeling or falling off, make sure the wall you’re working on isn’t textured, as that can prevent the materials from properly adhering.

To determine how many rolls of peel-and-stick wallpaper you need, measure the square footage of the walls you’re covering and divide that by the square footage that each roll covers. Add 10% to 20% of your total square footage to account for pattern matching or damage while installing.

In most cases, it is not recommended to wallpaper over existing wallpaper, as the success depends on the type of paper already on the wall. While you might be able to cover non-coated wallpaper, you should never apply new wallpaper over a vinyl-coated one, which is more common. Doing so can lead to poor adhesion, resulting in bubbles, imperfections, and peeling. It can also trap moisture, potentially causing hazardous mold growth between the layers.

Even if the existing wallpaper is suitable, experts recommend applying only one new layer. Adding multiple layers (more than two total) can cause significant adhesion problems, leading to warping and bubbling. For the best results, the recommended approach is to remove the old wallpaper and all paste residue before hanging the new paper. If you are unsure about your wallpaper type, consider consulting a professional.

While some people are confident in their ability to replace concrete by drilling out the broken pieces and replacing them with bagged concrete, it’s possible to run into snags that make hiring a professional worth it. Trying to level concrete slabs can require special equipment, which can be pricey to rent and tough to operate. It's also crucial to contact your town's municipal office to ensure you are allowed to take on the project without a permit.
