"Saul showed up early and his company was able to efficiently remove a dead pine tree in my yard. They also trimmed some other tree branches that were getting close to my home."

"Starling was polite and kept me well informed and the team was here earlier than expected. However, the team did a subpar job. Fall cleanup usually means; pickup leaves and yard debris and quickly mow the lawn for the winter. All they did was pick up the leaves. Debris from trees and shrubs were just moved to three different piles and left here. Left our yard items (chairs, small table, etc.) in disarray. Needless to say there was no mowing. Yard obviously looks better without a bunch of leaves, but the work was definitely not complete and I had to do half of it anyway. Will not hire again."

"They returned my call and performed an estimate the day I called! The final bill matched the estimate 100%. They were prompt and professional. I asked them to chop the wood into fireplace lengths for me rather than hauling it away, and they did. They cleaned up as expected. Would definitely use again."

"Mario and his team were outstanding. I would highly recommend them for tree removal services. Mario reached out to me almost immediately after I submitted a request on here, and came to look at the work I needed done the next day. He quoted me a very good price, almost too good to be true for removing more than a dozen trees, including 4 fairly big ones. Watching his crew work was very impressive. Their knowledge and experience in tying off large branches and bringing them down in tight spaces right where they wanted them to go was amazing to watch. They arrived when they said they would and worked hard all day. When they finished and cleaned up, they left my yard even cleaner than when they arrived. I had a pile of brush and an old stump in the corner of my yard that I was planned to clean up, but Mario's crew cleaned it up and took the stump away without being asked. Great bunch of guys I would hire again in a second."

Topsoil costs from $12 to $55 per cubic yard, depending on the type you choose. For example, screened black dirt will cost about $15 per cubic yard. Loam (soil composed of sand, silt, and clay) costs about $17 per cubic yard. Standard screened topsoil costs about $20 per cubic yard. The type of topsoil you need depends on your landscaping plans.

Landscapers typically charge $25 to $50 per person per hour, which equals around $50 to $100 per hour for a two-person crew. These rates can vary depending on your location, the size of staff needed for the job, and overall job type. For example, a larger crew will be needed for structural additions and hardscaping versus planting flowers.

When it comes to landscapers, licensing laws vary. Landscaping architects are required to be licensed in all 50 states, whereas traditional landscaping contractors are not typically required to hold a certification. You’ll likely be working with a landscaping contractor for most residential projects. If you are redesigning your whole yard or adding in hardscape features, you will work with a landscaping architect at some point during the project. Be sure to check our state licensing tool to review the local landscaper guidelines.

On the inexpensive end, red and black mulch are about $35 to $40 per cubic yard, and are typically made from recycled waste wood like shredded old pallets or deck material. Cedar, cypress, and rubber mulch cost anywhere from $100 to $120 per cubic yard. A pro can help you determine the type of mulch most suitable for your landscaping needs.

Yes, you will want to confirm that the tree removal company you hire is insured before proceeding with the job. Tree removal can be dangerous work, and it's important to verify that the company carries the proper insurance to cover any onsite accidents or damage.
