"Andrew Wells has been a gift from God for my dire situation. "Job the got done for a reasonable price, but a lot of cleanup and touch-ups have been required. Also missed a bunch of areas, mostly the sides of door frames. The "crew" also consisted of just one person, for most of the time. The project, instead of lasting one week, as originally scoped, ended up lasting three. Nice people, though."

Apply a wood stain or sealant to properly maintain a wood deck railing and keep it looking new. Sealants protect wood from moisture and weathering. Wood stain does go bad, but it will last in the can for between three and six years, provided you use proper storage techniques. When applying multiple coats, wait four to six hours for each coat to dry. Not waiting long enough can result in streaks, peeling, and uneven color. Plus, it will be more difficult to discern where the second coat has already been applied.

Oxygen bleach uses hydrogen peroxide as a base and won’t harm wood when using it as a cleaner. On the other hand, chlorine bleach breaks down wood at the cellular level and causes irreversible harm. Although you may not see immediate damage to wood after exposing it to chlorine bleach, its strength and integrity are now compromised.
