"My family owns Cape Sand and Recycling in Brewster and Dennis. They also have other large residential properties. Apex is the only company we use now for irrigation, fertilization and general maintenance issues. We had several other landscapers that never did as good a job as Apex Landscaping. Alex Booth is a hard working professional that knows his stuff. I recommend him highly."

"Spring clean-up was good. Some branches of a ground cover evergreen were broke & sheered(discovered later that spring). The estimate included debris removal, but that was lost in translation, never got done. Our yard is a 3rd of an acre including the house's foundation, yet it took 8 yds of mulch. Well, that's what we were charged, anyway. Word to the wise, always insist on a bill with your name on it from the wholesaler supplying the mulch to make sure you're getting what you pay for! Especially, if it's being dispensed from the back of a truck! We used to order 3 yds. of mulch and have it delivered. So, I know what 3 yrds of mulch can cover. We would then distribute the mulch throughout the yard. It seemed to be sufficient. So, when you find yourself weeding beds when you paid for a lot of mulch you've got to wonder, did I really get 8 yds of mulch? In my opinion, I don't think so. We also had a couple of trees cut down to the ground with the understanding they would come back(when it was less busy) to plant a tree in the void created. Haven't heard from them since. I guess they don't always return to the scene. Kiril, you said you'd call me in June/July to plant that tree, Remember? Updated 8/7/2019: rebuttal to provider's response Review Text: We discussed the pile of brush during your initial visit and it was supposed to be part of your estimate. When you finished the original job, the pile of brush was still there. I pointed that out to you and at that time you said that would be a separate charge. I let it go. Did you include the 2 yds of mulch you claimed you had in your truck from a previous job? Your paperwork doesn't prove anything! If there was 3" to 4" of mulch in the beds, there would be no weeds. Not with 5 yds. or 8 yds. on less than a 3rd of an acre. You called me a couple of weeks ahead of your scheduled appt. to say you had a day free and wanted to do the mulch. I should have realized something was up. No, I'm not changing my review, because in my opinion I did not get what I paid for."

Michael Santos Irrigation, LLC is an irrigation and landscape lighting service business satisfying customers on Mid, Upper and Lower Cape Cod. We provide our customers with honest and uncomplicated service. We strive to provide affordable and reliable irrigation and lighting services to each and every one of our valued customers.

"Michael worked wonders on our irrigation system. I rarely write reviews but Michael is more than worthy. We hired someone else to install our irrigation system and it turned into a bit of of nightmare. I thought it would be even harder to find someone willing to take on this problem. Then I found Michael. Michael was more than willing to do the job. He actually seemed enthusiastic to take on the challenge and showed that he had the experience to do it right. Cassandra was very responsive to my emails and accommodating with my schedule. Michael arrived promptly and was professional. He even made some quick improvements when he came the first day to assess the situation and give an estimate. His pricing was very competitive. I could tell immediately that he knew his profession. He returned as scheduled, moved irrigation heads, added drip irrigation and returned two weeks later to ensure that all was well. I only wish that I knew about him 6 months earlier."

Lawn Fertilization and Treatment questions, answered by experts

The best fertilizer for early spring is an organic slow-release fertilizer that sets up your lawn for continued good health and vigorous growth throughout the whole growing season. If your lawn is particularly neglected or has specific issues, you may need an application of quick-release fertilizer alongside a slow-release one for an immediate boost.

In most municipalities, landscaping companies require a business license to operate legally, and some require additional licenses, like general contractor licenses. You can use Angi's our contractor licensing tool to confirm if a company in your area holds the necessary licensing. Equally as important as the license is insurance. Before hiring any lawn care company, you should confirm that it is fully insured. This measure protects you from lawsuits, and it also protects the employees in the case of an injury or unemployment.

Bahia grass is not difficult to grow, but you might need patience for this slow-growing grass. Whereas some grass species, like Bermuda grass, can take 1 to 2 weeks to germinate, Bahia grass can take two or three times as long, making it seem like it won’t grow. But again, once your Bahia grass is established, it requires little maintenance. Its deep root system makes it a very durable grass that can bounce back after freezes and droughts.

The quickest way to kill weeds is to burn them, pour boiling water on them, or pull them out by hand. Each of these methods works instantaneously. Beyond that, using vinegar for grass works in a couple of hours, as do herbicides you can buy at the store. The slowest way to kill weeds is to starve them of nutrients and sunlight with mulch or fabric covers.

The cost of yard work depends on the type of work you need done. The average cost of lawn care is $300, but you could pay as little as $100 or up to $500.
