"So wonderful to work with. They did the painting and wallpaper in my nursery and it came out perfectly, better than I was hoping. They made sure I ordered my wall mural with the correct dimensions and not only was the measurement spot on, but the application of the panels was seamless. "Paulo and his team were on time, professional, and highly skilled. MP Remodeling took down 20+ year old wallpaper in 3 rooms as well as hallways on two floors. Additionally they patched/repaired the walls. We brought them back to paint the rooms as well as trim and 10+ doors which were stained dark and are now painted brilliant white. "Mario did a fantastic job painting our new nursery - walls, trim and ceiling. After having a cancellation with another service provider earlier in the week, we contacted Mario and he came out next day to assess and quote the room. Two days later he was here to do the work - on time and on the budget we discussed. He came prepared with all of his equipment, showed us the paint color to confirm before he started and got right to work and finished in half a day! He was extremely personable and professional and we would highly recommend him for any job. We hope to work with Mario again the future!"

Walls should be as smooth as possible before applying peel-and-stick wallpaper. Although you technically can apply wallpaper on textured walls, the peel-and-stick variety won’t last long without a clean, smooth surface for the adhesive to stick to. If you have textured walls, consult a pro about removing the textured finish before moving forward with wallpaper.

Your peel-and-stick wallpaper can fall off for multiple reasons, including high humidity levels, extreme temperature changes, poor installation, and even the wall surface. Textured walls can prevent the adhesive from fully sticking to the wall, making it more likely for the wallpaper to peel off. Low-quality wallpapers with weaker adhesives are also more likely to fall off prematurely.

If you can already see the texture of the existing wallpaper through the layer of paint, then the texture could also come through the new layer of wallpaper. If that’s the aesthetic you want, then proceed. But if you want a smoother surface, you should either strip off the existing paint and wallpaper or hang a layer of liner paper before proceeding.

Putting up new wallpaper tends to take one to two days, depending on the size of the area, whether old paper needs to be removed, and if there is any damage to walls that needs to be smoothed over or fixed.
