"Bob is excellent. He has been so helpful to us, having worked on everything from straightening our crooked kitchen cabinets to repairing broken closet doors, and even assembling some new furniture we got (media center, large desks, patio table, etc.) Bob is extremely resourceful & professional, and has both the know-how & the tools to tackle a wide-range of household projects."

"I called CRM On Demand Handyman for a repair that a previous handyman left unfinished and was no longer responding to texts/calls to finish the work. Derik responded quickly, discussed the job, set an estimate, and was at my home then next day, which was a Sunday, to complete the silicone seal on an outside vent, so hornets do not get into my attic. He adjusted his schedule to get to the job quickly, since the hornets have become active and are looking for places to build nests. He discussed the new branch of his business that is focused on smaller handyman jobs and I got a few of his cards to pass on to my friends who also need occasional handyman jobs."

"Wasn’t as diligent on the project as I would have liked. So so work. Careless about the nails he pulled after I told him I didn’t want my dogs stepping on them so I picked up because my concern seemed to fall on deaf ears. Showed up on time and finished the job."

Pool Table Assembly questions, answered by experts

Yes, you can absolutely use a sand filter with a saltwater pool, but you’ll have to make sure you have the right grade of sand to catch smaller particles, just like in a standard pool. To choose the right pool filter, consider the degree of filtration you’ll need. Cartridge or diatomaceous earth filters can remove smaller particles, so they’re better suited for a less chlorinated saltwater pool.

The best time to schedule an annual pool inspection is early or late spring, before the busy summer season. Your inspector can identify urgent issues so you can address them before using the pool. If your region is warm year-round, schedule an inspection before you start swimming regularly.

Pavers are a great decking option for pools. They’re customizable, come in a variety of shapes, sizes, colors, textures, materials, and price points, and they’re slip-resistant. Concrete pool decks, on the other hand, are harder to repair and replace if damaged and aren’t as slip-resistant as most paver materials. However, not all pavers are equal in terms of durability, maintenance, and performance. Pavers also have their own cons that may encourage homeowners to opt for stamped concrete instead, such as higher upfront costs.

Pools and pool equipment tend to go on sale in the fall to make room for the next year’s inventory. That means if you’re looking for the lowest cost to install a pool in your outdoor space, you should start looking in the fall rather than the summer. You’ll save money and be ready to dive in during the warm months next year.

If you put too much baking soda in your pool, your alkalinity will rise. That means you’ll need to take steps to lower your alkalinity. You can either add more water (which will require more chemicals because they’ll be diluted), wait for the alkalinity to lower naturally, or use a chemical like muriatic acid to lower it.
