"They did a great job on a counter backsplash. I will hire them again anytime I need tile installation or repair. These guys are real pros. The company owner, Gene, is a good communicator. He answered my calls and texts in a timely fashion. The price was transparent and very reasonable. We easily discussed added work and price adjustments that were all very fair. My kitchen look beautiful."

Small jobs welcome

"Prompt, courteous, seemed to fix the crack in our Silestone Counter. Color match was very good. I had sent 4 photos of the work, and they quoted recutting over the crack and bonding the 2 pieces. But on arrival, said they had not seen the photos and bonded the crack instead. I was surprised but perhaps that is the best strategy. Time will tell."

Marble Restoration questions, answered by experts

Yes, quartzite is heat-resistant, so you can put hot pots and pans on top without risking damage.

Professionals use resin fillers, diamond polishing pads, and sealants to restore the surface.

While quartz is highly stain-resistant, it is not completely stain-proof. Spills, including water, should be wiped up as soon as possible to prevent staining. Minor stains are usually not permanent and can be removed using a quartz-safe cleaner, a simple mixture of dish soap and water, or a baking soda paste applied with a soft microfiber cloth. For severe stains that persist, professional treatment may be necessary, and in rare cases, countertop repair or replacement might be required.

It is not recommended to put a hot pan directly on a marble countertop. While marble is heat-resistant, it is not completely heat-proof, and extreme or prolonged exposure to high heat can cause discoloration, cracking, or chipping. Pans may also scratch or nick the surface. To protect your countertop and maintain its integrity, always use trivets or hot pads. Note that faux marble finishes do not resist heat and require protection from hot items at all times.

There are three main downsides to quartzite: the cost, the porosity, and the weight. As a natural stone, there’s a level of scarcity that can drive up the price of certain types of quartzite. Even more common varieties are less affordable than synthetic materials like laminate and other natural stones like granite.

You’ll also have to reseal your quartzite countertop annually to combat the natural porosity and reinforce your cabinets to account for the added weight.
