"Went great!  Bill came in and got the job done in less than 2 hours.  He gave me a 30 minute window to get to my house prior to his arrival (I like that because I wasn't given a window of time)  They were in and out and cleaned up any drips they left on my floor.

The fastest way to remove carpet is to remove carpet in strips instead of trying to remove it in one large piece. Wear protective equipment such as gloves and goggles, use a utility knife to cut the carpet in long strips, and then pull at the edge of the strip to loosen the staples or glue. Carpet-cutting razor blades are best on your utility knife for the quickest removal.

It depends on the kind you choose, but some types of carpet padding can last for decades. For instance, flat rubber—which is dense, durable, and higher-priced than other padding materials—has a life span of up to 20 years. On the other hand, prime foam—a lower-priced material that often comes free with a carpet installation—lasts less than five years on average.

Vinyl and laminate flooring can have a similar life span. Both well-maintained laminate and luxury vinyl flooring can last up to 25 years. Laminate flooring takes about 24 to 48  hours to settle. Before this, planks are not completely acclimated to your home, and walking on them could cause shifting and permanent damage to the flooring. You should allow floorboards to acclimate for 48 to 72 hours before installing so that they can adjust to your home’s humidity and temperature levels, but they will continue to acclimate and settle after installation. For this reason, avoid placing any furniture in the room for 72 hours after installation.

Your floors will continue to settle for a few months after installation, becoming less bouncy as they rest.
