"Thomas Cole arrived at the scheduled time and removed two tall dead trees from my back yard. I asked him while he was on site to trim 3 other trees in my yard. He removed all the debris from my yard as well as other trimmings I had cut prior to his arrival. "Excellent service. Punctual, professional, courteous, and efficient. The yard looks great! All debris, clippings, and trash were bagged and removed. Also installed some shelving in the garage. Again, very professional in making sure the shelves were secure and level. Swept the floor and wiped down the shelves after installing. "Mr. Mullins and his crew did an outstanding job. I had about 15 trees removed, several over 100 feet tall. The crew cut the trees down safely, removed them from my property and cleaned up the mess so well that you can't tell they were there. I had some of the stumps ground down. Mr. Mullins brought some very impressive equipment to the job that made the job go fast. I will absolutely use them again and I would recommend them to anyone."

  • Chisel and Hammer: This is often considered the easiest approach for those with limited tools or experience, though it is the most time-consuming.

  • Chainsaw: Using a chainsaw is the fastest method, but it comes with significant safety risks, especially for inexperienced users.

  • Burning: This can be an effective method, but it is not recommended unless you can first drill holes into the stump. Without holes, the stump will be difficult to light and may not burn completely through.

A power drill with at least a ⅜-inch diameter bit can make the job quicker and easier, regardless of the primary method. While you can use a chisel or chainsaw without a drill, it will require more time and effort. Always wear protective goggles and thick gloves, as splinters are an inevitable risk.

Opt for a barefoot tree. Pros harvest barefoot trees when they’re dormant (leafless). They shake the dirt from the root ball and pack it in moist material.

Salt, herbicide, light deprivation, boiling water, and burning can all help dissolve a tree stump. You can also bury the tree stump in soil or mulch to help it rot naturally. Killing a tree stump prevents future regrowth, but you may also remove it by digging it out or grinding it.
