"Olson's Earthworks, LLC is a lifesaver! After my neighbor's tree fell on my camper, Olson's Earthworks showed up the next day, made a plan, and removed the tree (had to cut down more of the neighbor's tree to get it off my home). Professional, friendly, helpful. These guys are the best! "

We provide a complete tree service in every aspect. We take safety of your property and our employees to be a number one priority. All employees are drug screened, hold an industrial safety card, TWIC card, and must wear proper personnel protective equipment during all work performed. We staff an ISA certified arborist, and two Louisiana state licensed arborists. We own and maintain our own 23 ton crane truck for added safety in dangerous tree removals, as well as two other aerial lifts to assist in our work. We will preserve trees prior to construction, remove hazardous or unwanted trees, properly prune trees (without climbing spikes as required by the state of Louisiana), and dispose of all unwanted tree debris properly, safely, and in a timely fashion. We have all of the equipment needed to perform any type of tree work from start to finish, so that no sub contractors will be on your property. All of our employees are covered under workers compensation insurance, and all of our work is covered by general liability insurance, to protect the customer.

Tree Service questions, answered by experts

Generally, no, tree topping isn’t a good technique, and you should avoid using it in most cases. Tree topping may be the only good option to save a tree following severe damage after a storm, but in most other cases, it’s not the right choice. Tree topping can leave trees vulnerable to disease and further damage, and most pros will suggest against it.

Usually, trees cannot grow back after their stump has been ground, but some very hearty types of trees can. For example, if you have a black locust or Redford pear, the grinding will need to go deep to prevent them from growing back. Ask your tree service or stump removal expert whether your tree can resprout after its stump is ground down.

Many consider the Fraser fir to be the most popular type of Christmas tree, but which type of tree sells out near you can depend on region and decorating trends that year. For example, the Leyland cypress is especially popular in the Southeast, according to the National Christmas Tree Association.

It depends on whether easiest means fastest or least challenging. If you have limited tools or experience, hollowing with a chisel and hammer is the easiest, although it won’t be the fastest approach. Using a chainsaw is much faster, but it comes with more safety risks, especially if you aren’t used to wielding one.

While the fastest way to kill a tree is to simply cut it down, there are several other methods to choose from. You should hire a professional tree removal service to cut down a tree to ensure your personal and property safety. Some slower but effective options include treating or grinding the tree stump or using a basal bark treatment.
