"Couldn’t be more pleased with the outcome of my project! I hired B&S to remove 4 very large trees that were way too close to my home. The price was very fair and justified for the danger involved to workers and property. Each tree took over five hours to fall as each branch had to be cut several times and lowered by rope. Not only were all 4 trees removed without a problem, but when they were finished there was no sign that there were ever any trees there. I will be using B&S a second time to cut, remove, and trim additional trees."

Land Clearing Services questions, answered by experts

Completing land surveying in Houma clarifies property boundaries, which reduces neighbor disputes and supports accurate flood insurance coverage. Up-to-date surveys help with drainage planning, hurricane-resistant improvements, and compliance with local building codes. For waterfront properties, surveys guide dock or pier placement. Ultimately, a current survey allows you to make informed decisions that enhance your home’s safety and functionality.

Helpful?

A quality land surveying job in Houma will include a signed survey plat with clear property boundaries, accurate elevation data, and all easements or encroachments marked. The survey should match your deed’s legal description and address floodplain requirements. Look for references to the local coordinate system and attention to coastal or subsidence issues common in the area, ensuring compliance with local regulations.

Helpful?

Combining land surveying with upgrades like drainage improvements, elevation projects, or new construction in Houma can streamline your project timeline. Coordinating surveys with permit applications or flood protection work helps avoid delays and ensures all changes are properly documented. Scheduling during the dry season or before hurricane season can also improve efficiency and help you better coordinate with local professionals.

Helpful?

Before scheduling land surveying in Houma, gather your property deed, any previous survey plats, and tax records. Note visible property boundaries, fences, and driveways, as well as any recent construction or disputes with neighbors. Include flood zone details, elevation certificates, and records of subsidence. Document utility easements and any restrictions from local permits or homeowners associations to ensure the surveyor has a complete picture.

Helpful?

In Houma, land surveying should be prioritized if you’re planning construction, resolving a boundary dispute, updating flood insurance, or preparing for hurricane season. If you notice property changes after storms or signs of subsidence, schedule a survey within six months. For routine documentation or estate planning, timing is more flexible, but consider seasonal weather and surveyor availability in your decision.
