"I needed my deck painted, my shutters painted, my doors refinished, outdoor window frames and garage door painted, pressure washing the house fence and driveway and cleaning the gutters. They repaired the cracks in the cement deck before painting. They repaired window, door and shutter including crack wood and caulking before repainting. They got rid of all the dang hornet nests behind the shutters and other crevices. They did far beyond what I hoped for. They left everything spotless. All done within a week. Nice and polite. Very hard workers. Price was extremely reasonable for the quality of work! OUTSTANDING JOB!!! Very happy!!!ð ð"

Caulking Services questions, answered by experts

Yes, many repair services include blade sharpening as part of the maintenance package.

Using a pro guarantees correct tools and expertise, preventing potential household mishaps.

While handypeople do not need to be licensed in many places, you should only hire insured pros for any home improvement work. Your handyperson should have active liability coverage that protects them and you in the case of an error or accident. Furthermore, if they have employees on your property, they should also have workers’ compensation insurance. If you hire an individual or a company that is not insured and they damage your property, have an accident while on the job, or become injured on your property without insurance, you can be held financially liable.

While a handyperson will do the odd small job for your home, a maintenance person is responsible for conducting regular inspections and repairs. Maintenance people may come in to do small fixes and diagnose any issues you might be facing, but may not have all the same technical abilities as a handyperson.

Many contractors prefer checks because they’re easy to track and have no associated fees. However, many also accept credit cards (though they might add a fee to cover their processing costs).
