"We had a 22kw liquid cooled QS Generac installed. Since installation, we have had 3 gas leaks and it wasn’t even working since install. We were told they wouldn’t come out until final walk through and not to worry since there is nothing in the Gulf. Ok, fine. Today was the final walk through and it was not a great experience. We were told that we still owed $600. We gave them a deposit of $600 in March that was to go towards the balance. We have an invoice, sales order and initial contract that all have the same amount owed total. No where does it say the $600 credit was applied, even under the payments/credits section. The only difference was the initial contract has the concrete pad and the recent invoice and sales order had a stand. Still the same amount due. We even called the company before to verify the amount and we’re told that it was $20,108.34= $600 off from deposit. So, that’s the amount we got in a check for them. When I called, I was sent to Craig. He was condescending, rude and outright degrading. When he realized we weren’t going to agree and we’re at an impasse, I apologized saying I was sorry we got here and his response was to tell me that “yes, you are sorry and you should write a check for $600.” He went on to tell me that he didn’t know what world I lived in but he lives in the “real world” and that you pay what you owe. We don’t owe anymore. If we did, the contract, invoice, sales order and phone call should have said so. He even went as far as to say that it’s obvious we don’t have money and so, could not pay the $600. No, I’m just not paying more for what I’ve already paid for. This is not great business and disgusting behavior from a manager. Do better and check your contracts."

No, you cannot plug a generator directly into a wall outlet in your home. Plugging in a generator without an interlocking kit, extension cord, or wall outlet receptacle is incredibly dangerous and can cause back-feeding—power from the generator back-feeds into utility lines. Also, if the main power comes back on while your generator is on, it could damage the generator and cause a house fire.
Here’s what you can run with different wattages and types of generators:
Portable generator:
2,000 watts can handle a large appliance like a freezer or refrigerator, plus a few smaller items like phones or computer chargers.
4,000 watts will keep two large appliances operating and a few smaller devices.
8,000 watts should power most essential appliances and other devices, including a sump pump, well pump, or your dishwasher.
Partial to whole-house generator:
20,000 watts and above will make it seem like your home’s power is still on.
Yes, whole-house generators run constantly for extended periods. Whole-house generators can run for longer periods of time than portable generators, but be careful. First, they may need regular applications of engine oil (as frequently as daily), depending on the engine design. Second, running constantly for several days will increase the wear and tear on the generator and shorten its lifespan.
Never use a portable generator inside an enclosed space, as the carbon monoxide exhaust it creates is lethal.
Never attempt to connect your generator to your home’s electrical panel independently; hire a professional for this dangerous job.
Never overload your generator by connecting more appliances than for which it’s rated; you can damage your generator and appliances or even cause a fire.
