"I woke up this morning and couldn’t flush my toilets and found stuff backing up into my tubs. I called out Hargraves plumbing and I was impressed from begging to end. They sent a text along with a picture that said they were on the way and instantly made me feel comfortable as I knew who the person looked that was coming to my home. Zach came out and was able to figure out it that my line needed to be cleared and he jetted my line with a free camera. He figured out I had an issue with my drain in my yard and they were able to get it fixed in a timely manner and made sure I wasn’t gonna have issues in the future. I would recommend Hargraves plumbing to anyone you know!"

"Cody with FlowPro Plumbing did an excellent job in replacing two toilets in our home in Sunset, La. He removed the old toilets and took them away without leaving a mess. While here he also cleared a water line to the bathtub that was clogged with rust. Cody and his helper were very professional, and I would not hesitate to recommend his services."

French Drains questions, answered by experts

The drain pump will naturally make a standard operational and draining sound several times throughout your dishwasher cycle. If you hear abnormally loud sounds like scraping, grinding, or clicking, you may have food debris or a piece of glass stuck in your drain filter. Avoid dishwasher repair by always scraping food off your dishes and loading the racks correctly.

Yes, continuing to flush a clogged toilet is not likely to break up the clog. Instead, it will continue to put pressure on the clog while filling the bowl with more water, which can potentially cause the toilet to overflow—leading to an even bigger mess. Rather than repeatedly flushing, use a toilet plunger or plumber’s snake to dislodge the clog.

Bleach is generally not recommended for your shower drains. Although diluted bleach can technically help clean your drain, it will not unclog your pipes. In fact, bleach can harm your plumbing system because it’s so powerful. The bleach can change the color of your sink and even corrode metal pipes and fittings.

Often, people reach for bleach because it's already in their house. But it's worth getting a plunger or a drain snake for the job instead. It'll be a lot less money to buy a new plunger than to pay a plumber to repair or replace damaged pipes.

Yes, you can pour water down the toilet to help it flush. For each flush, you’ll need 1 to 2 gallons of water for newer toilets or 3 to 5 gallons of water for older toilets. Rather than dumping the entire bucket in all at once, pour the water in slowly for the best results. If you’re pouring water down the toilet to help it flush after a clog, only use 1 gallon of hot water.

Chemical drain cleaners can work to clear clogs in pipes, but their use should be approached with caution. These harsh chemicals can damage pipes over time, and they can also harm the environment. Use them sparingly and consider alternative methods such as using a plunger or a drain snake. If you have concerns about a persistent clog, it's best to consult a professional who can safely and effectively address the issue without causing further damage to your plumbing system.
