"Due to hurricane Ida We hired this company to finish the work another contractor scammed us out of our money. Matthew worked with us to help finish our work. There was really no part of our house they did not touch. They exceeded our expectations and my house looks brand new. There were a few thing that had to be redone but was handled very professionally and done in a timely manner. We had good contact through our whole project and that there was gave us a peace of mind due to the last person we had. I would and have recommend them to anyone due to the great job they did on our home. Thank God Matthew and his team were sent to us they were definitely heaven sent. Gidget"

Drywall questions, answered by experts

You can put certain types of plaster over other types, but doing so isn't always the best idea. For example, putting a coat of gypsum over lime plaster is possible, but doing so will limit the lime plaster's breathability and potentially affect its performance.

Since cement plaster tends to leave a textured surface, no matter how much you smooth it, some people prefer to use gypsum plaster as a topcoat over cement plaster, creating a smoother surface.

Yes, it matters which side of drywall you use. One side is smooth, and the other is rough. The smooth side should be facing outward, toward the room, while the rough side should be hidden and facing the studs and framing of the house. The smooth side will be easier to apply tape, joint compound, and, later, paint to.

Many homeowners choose to install tongue and groove over drywall. The great thing about this type of ceiling is that it hides imperfections. If your drywall is a little bit wonky or has some minor damage, the tongue and groove planks should cover it and give it an even appearance. Installation is simplest if you install battens over the existing framing before installing your tongue and groove planks.

Most load-bearing walls are exterior, though they can also be interior.

Options include bricks, natural stone, and concrete blocks. Choose based on durability, aesthetics, and budget.
