"The team was great after reviewing different ideas and choosing the right brick took about 4 days. The longest was the supplier where Cornerstone got their material that too the longest which stretched the project out longer. I was so impressed with the way Owner Eric worked with me I hired him for some additional landscaping work and it’s turning out GREAT!"

"They appear to have completed the plumbing satisfactorily. They did leave greasy prints all over my walls. Thank goodness for 409. I felt I was overcharged a bit. I asked prior to repair an estimate on what it would cost and was told "it's hard to tell." It would have been nice if he could have at least quoted me their hourly rate so I would have an idea. I had the faucet so the price was for labor.

Basement Waterproofing questions, answered by experts

In Covington, basement waterproofing may impact crawl space ventilation, sump pump placement, and moisture control systems. After work is completed, monitor for changes in indoor humidity, new settling around the foundation, or altered performance of dehumidifiers and electrical panels. Plumbing lines may also shift if soil is disturbed. If you notice any changes in these systems, consult with your contractor to ensure everything remains in proper working order.

Helpful?

Covington’s humid, subtropical climate—with frequent heavy rainfall and a long hurricane season—places extra stress on basement waterproofing systems. Clay soils can expand and contract, causing foundation movement and water intrusion. High humidity slows drying times for sealants and coatings. Planning waterproofing projects outside peak storm months and using moisture-resistant materials helps ensure long-term protection against Covington’s challenging weather patterns.

Helpful?

Covington homeowners can choose from waterproofing specialists, foundation repair contractors, drainage experts, mold remediation professionals, and storm damage repair companies. Waterproofing specialists focus on moisture barriers and sump pump installation, while foundation repair contractors address structural issues. Drainage experts improve exterior water flow, and mold professionals handle moisture-related health risks. Select a contractor with experience in Covington’s climate, soil conditions, and flood-prone areas for best results.

Helpful?

In Covington, foundation walls, crawl spaces, and slab-on-grade areas are most vulnerable to moisture due to shifting clay soils and persistent humidity. If your home has a basement, pay close attention to wall joints, window wells, and floor cracks. Regularly inspect exterior drainage points and sump pump systems to prevent water buildup. Annual checks and proactive maintenance help protect your home from long-term moisture damage.

Helpful?

For basement waterproofing in Covington, start by scheduling your project during the drier fall and winter months to minimize weather delays. Evaluate your property’s drainage, especially if you have clay-heavy soil, and plan for extra drying time due to humidity. Obtain permits early, as approval can be slow. Coordinate with any flood mitigation projects, and choose contractors with proven experience handling Covington’s unique soil and moisture challenges.
