"Larry has helped me with multiple moves after a friend recommended him, and I would definitely pass that recommendation on to anyone in the New Orleans area! He and his team are well-prepared, professional, and efficient. His pricing is super reasonable and he hires local folks for his team. Support local, and hire these guys!"

"Fast, easy, and thorough. Process was as smooth and painless as could be. Gregory made contact and after viewing some photos of the requested work made a reasonable estimate and had his crew out on site the following day. Not all work could be completed, due to safety concerns. Gregory reached out and maintained great communication and offered several solutions in order to complete the project. Will contact All Purpose Maintenance Solutions directly for all future projects. Very pleased."

Leaf Removal questions, answered by experts

While not all homes built before 1978 contain lead paint, enough do, so you’ll still want to test to be on the safe side. The federal government banned lead-based paint for homes in 1978, but your state may have banned lead before that time. Around 24% of homes built between 1960 and 1977 contained lead-based paint, while 87% of homes built before 1940 contained lead-based paint.

The best disposal method for hazardous waste is recycling or donation, if possible. That way, the world can reduce its consumption of raw materials and the volume at which materials have to be treated and disposed of. If recycling or donation is not an option, most waste can be disposed of through landfills or incinerators, but their collection and treatment are separate from regular day-to-day waste disposal.

If your home was built before 1978, there’s a chance that any paint on your hardwood floors could be lead paint—especially if it was already there when you moved in. Because lead is toxic, hiring a licensed pro to remove it is mandatory. The average price for professional lead paint removal ranges from $1,500 to $5,300 and depends on the scope of the project.

The safest way to remove lead-based paint is by letting a professional take over. For most people, lead paint removal costs an average of $3,400. You should never attempt to dry sand old lead-based paint surfaces by hand. Most professionals use a paint stripper to do the job followed by wet scraping, but if you don’t want to remove lead paint, another option is to paint over it. Only consider this option if the old lead paint finish isn’t flaking or cracked.

The EPA enforces hazardous waste laws and ensures people dispose of their hazardous waste responsibly. Depending on where you live, your state’s hazardous waste regulatory agency may also enforce these laws. Individually, it’s up to each household to properly dispose of their hazardous waste.
