"Lacy helped to get my daughter?s house, which had been closed up, for three years, ready to live in again. My daughter was ill, so she did an awesome job of cleaning well, to meet my daughter?s needs. Lacy does what is asked of her. There were extra things done on Lacy?s own, to make house really clean! She understands what the customer wants, and goes out of her way to accomplish this. Lacy is licensed & insured. Has experience in all kinds of clean. She?s great, and her knowledge of what is needed to get the job done will not disappoint!!"

Blind Cleaning questions, answered by experts

Although it’s essential to clean your blinds every month or two as a best practice for keeping them dirt and dust-free, professional blind cleaning is often a more practical way to go. One significant benefit to having your blinds cleaned professionally is the overall saved time, as cleaning them yourself can be time-consuming. Other benefits include:

  • Ensuring that dirt and dust, which can cause health issues in those with sensitivities, are fully removed

  • Increasing the life expectancy of your current blinds to save money on replacements

  • Ensuring that your blinds are cleaned thoroughly and correctly, as blinds can be complex

Depending on your existing cleaning supplies, cellular shades can be more difficult to clean. Their material is more delicate and cannot get wet, meaning you’ll need to rely on vacuums, compressed air, and hair dryers to get the shades clean. This could mean extra strain on your back and shoulders compared to cleaning other parts of your home.

DIY cleaning is possible but may not remove deep dust, stains, or allergens as effectively as professional methods.

To maintain your blinds and shades, clean them regularly by dusting with a soft cloth or using a vacuum with a brush attachment. Spot-clean any stains or spills promptly with gentle cleaners. Be mindful of the material; for example, wood may require special cleaners, and you should avoid excessive moisture to prevent warping or discoloration. It is also important to inspect the operating mechanisms for wear, address any issues promptly, and avoid forcing them to prevent damage.

The most popular treatment for a skylight is skylight shades. There are five primary types: manual, motorized, blackout, cellular//honeycomb, and Venetian. Motorized skylight shades are the most convenient, especially for skylights that are higher up, but manual shades are the most cost-effective treatments. Cellular/honeycomb shades are a perfect option for anyone who wants energy efficiency and an attractive look.
