Small jobs welcome

"This company is top notch. They came on short notice and assessed and completed my request on the same day and was able to squeeze me in with a full schedule already. They installed a outlet in my closet. There was an issue with a fixture that was defective but they troubleshot it until they were absolutely positive it would need special parts from manufacturer. Right after they left, my wife was complaining about house being hot. Went to thermostat and it had no power. I tried everything I could but nothing worked. The only thing I could think of were since they had to go in the attic and the AC unit were in the attic that maybe they stepped on a wire or something. I called them back and they turned around with no hesitation. Turns out it was just a coincidence that a fuse went out in AC at the same time. They fixed it with it no additional charge and saved me from a very uncomfortable situation having been in the home for a few days and trying to get everything just how the wife wanted it. If you want through, quality work with a company that stands behind their work then look no where else."

Generator Install questions, answered by experts

Yes. You can connect your home back-up battery to a generator with its designated charger. Be sure that the output of the generator matches the input requirements for the battery for best results.

Setting up utilities on a vacant property usually takes at least a few months, or between 6 weeks to 16 weeks. This process requires working with the local planning and zoning department, hiring a building contractor or engineer to design the utility layout, securing permits, laying the lines, and connecting the utilities.

You can expect a diesel generator to last for up to 30,000 hours of use, which works out to 20 to 25 years with the proper maintenance, of course. That depends on how much you use it, so a diesel generator used for emergencies a couple of times a year will last a lot longer than a generator that takes over for a faulty electrical grid every month for a day or two.

Yes, installing a generator usually increases your property value because buyers are getting the added peace of mind knowing they’ll be able to maintain power through blackouts. In most cases, you should see close to a 100% return on investment (ROI). Keep in mind that home generators usually need a permanent foundation, and installing a concrete slab will likely raise your property taxes slightly.

While diesel is relatively stable, it won’t last nearly as long as propane and you may have to replace it if it sits unused for too long. Diesel can sometimes struggle to work efficiently or start engines during especially cold weather, so it’s not the best choice for every climate. Compared to fuels like propane and natural gas, diesel generators tend to be noisier and create more exhaust, which isn’t always ideal for home use.
