Small jobs welcome

"All of the employees were respectable, hard workers. They got the job done quickly and efficiently. When they finished the floor, they had left behind a tremendous job and smiling faces. I would recommend them to anyone needing the same results"

"We had purchased  a big deal for the service. The rugs look good, but I am not sure they rinsed out the soap that they put in carpet. They used a machine that put the cleaner and water in the carpet, and another guy came with a big vacuum machine, and vacuumed up the water, but I never saw any mechanism to rinse all the soap out of the carpet. If there is a lot of soap left in the carpet, it will attract a lot of dirt. Where another company that I used before, have a mechanism which puts the cleaner on, and then rinses it. I put my carpets in less than a year ago, and I feel that they will attract a lot of dirty, and now I feel like I should call the other company to come out and clean the soap. I had a hard time setting up the schedule after I bought the big deal."

Carpet Installation questions, answered by experts

A transition piece between carpet stairs and wood flooring isn't always necessary. A transition piece separates two types of flooring in between rooms and areas, like carpet and vinyl. Because the carpet on the stairs tucks into the seam, you can’t see the fringes, and there is no need to hide anything. However, you can use a stair cap if your stairs have a nose.

In most cases, you do not need to put padding or underlayment under carpet tiles. Unlike traditional carpet, which requires a separate pad, carpet tiles are designed to be installed directly onto a firm subfloor like plywood, concrete, or tile. Many carpet tiles come with a built-in underlay and attach with peel-and-stick adhesive, double-sided carpet tape, or glue. For a more comfortable, cushioned feel, especially in residential settings, you can opt for padded carpet tiles that have a thicker underlay attached. While it's generally not recommended to install a separate pad, a compact underlayment might be used in some situations, though this typically requires professional installation. An acoustic underlay may also be considered in commercial spaces or multi-level homes where noise reduction is a priority.

Experts advise that replacing carpeting can bring a 50% to 80% return on investment. However, new carpeting doesn’t necessarily add value to your overall home value. Because flooring value heavily depends on taste, it can be tricky to determine whether new carpet will increase your home sale price. Carpeting tends to be a renovation that increases overall comfort and aesthetics for your home, but it’s not a big factor in value.

It's best to wait until the newly installed carpet has fully settled and dried before moving furniture back into the room. Your carpet installation professionals can provide guidance on the recommended wait time based on factors such as the type of carpet and adhesive used. Moving furniture back in too soon could damage the carpet or affect its adherence to the floor.

Yes, carpet tiles are easy to install—even if you don’t have much DIY experience. In fact, the simple installation process is one of the main reasons that people choose carpet tiles over traditional carpet. Since carpet tiles come in individual squares, they aren’t as heavy or awkward to install as regular carpet. Plus, you don’t need specialized equipment (like knee kickers or carpet stretchers) when installing carpet tiles.
