"Everyone one that came in the house was very friendly and approachable about anything. Christian was first came to come to the house and find out what I needed done and very professional brought his son along on one visit, like the fact he is teaching his son the business. Tim was ever so kind and always asked if we needed anything additional. But getting to the meat of the project everything they did was top notch outstanding work, they did not rush the job which made it a high quality job, the tiles were beautiful. Tim took extra time in the flooring store to pick out and pick up the flooring. The kitchen floor was the same as bathroom and and made our old house look classy and more up to date. They took out the old cast iron tub which was not easy and still had good attitudes throughout the project. They were always prompt on time everyday. They even went above and beyond by turning water on and off during the project so we could still stay in the house and use the toilet."

Install Central Vacuum questions, answered by experts

Yes, installing a central vacuum system typically adds value to your home. The ease of use, longevity, and superior suction power of a central vacuum system can add up to $2,000 to your home’s value if you decide to sell. Potential buyers may consider the central vacuum a perk to purchasing your home.

Experienced professionals don’t usually need to take down drywall to install the central vacuum. They are experienced in working in the tight spaces between walls and in crawl spaces to minimize any damage. The only drywall changes should be the holes cut for the new outlets. However, home design, existing plumbing, and other factors may require some modification. An estimate from a professional contractor should include information if any changes need to be made.

For the average-size house, a central vacuum installation usually takes one day of work by a team of professionals. Large houses may take two or more days. But if you are planning on a DIY project, it’s likely to take much longer. We suggest getting a few estimates for a project this big and fully understanding all the requirements before you make a decision about installation. Certain parts of your house may not be usable during the installation, and you may want to make other plans.

No. Only the hose or the attachments are portable in a central vacuum system. A portable vacuum is a standalone model like a stick, canister, or upright. A central vacuum system is defined by a central power unit, which is installed in one place like an AC unit, and the connected network of piping to funnel the suction.

Whether talking about a whole-house central vacuum or a portable vacuum cleaner, the expected cost of major repair work should always be balanced against its replacement cost. However, excluding high-cost motor replacements or major electrical trouble, repairs on a central vacuum system are typically far less than the cost of purchasing and installing a new one.
