"I am very disappointed with my experience with ExperiGreen. I called the call center on 8/23/25 after my yard had already been treated twice in August with no improvement in the weeds. I specifically requested a callback before any further treatment was done. Nobody called me back until 9/16/25, nearly a month later. When I finally received a call from 317-552-2179, the gentleman first told me there was no note to call me back. Toward the end of the call, he admitted he saw that I had requested a follow-up but dismissed it by saying the customer service team is overwhelmed and probably forgot to schedule my callback. That may be true, but as the company, it is your responsibility to take accountability. It is not my weight to bear as the customer. To make matters worse, the gentleman on the phone was unprofessional. He repeatedly talked over me, was not interested in hearing my concerns, and focused on defending the call center instead of resolving my issue. He even tried to shift t"

"This company is very pushy to get you to sign up. After that, it is up to you to make all contact with them. After about 3 weeks I had to reach out to them to schedule. We had wanted all 3 things done at the same time since we have dogs and wanted to get it done at the same time. When they did come out, they did not have the equipment to treat for army worms. Then we had to reschedule for that at a later date. I emailed the company on Oct 18th and explained I was not seeing any new growth in the bare spots. I even loosened the soil with a garden rack the day before they reseeded. They replied to the email and said they would open a free service call ticket to evaluate the reseeding. Guess what...haven't heard a word from them 3 weeks later!"

"The original provider of services was Turfman who retired this year and sold the business to Experigreen. Turfman was great. The gentlemen who services our lawn is Dave and Dave is great. Since Experigreen has taken over I had two issues. First, the continue to charge me sales tax and note on each invoice that it is the Hamilton County tax rate. We live in Clermont County. I advised them of this when they first took over the business from Turfman. They said they would fix it. Most recent invoice still has Hamilton County as the tax rate. Because our zip code covers two counties, it is not intelligent enough to handle different taxing districts in the same zip. They told me they would adjust the amount they charge me, but will not change it to Clermont Count. So Clermont County is NOT getting the tax money for their portion of the state sales tax. In my mind they are thus committing tax fraud. They blew me off on this issue. I did call the State of Ohio Department of Taxation to report this and they said they would open an investigation. Second issue, I should have asked them in advance the cost of grub prevention. Most lawn care companies I talked to charge around the same cost as the regular lawn service applications. Experigreen charged me about $250 for this service. I paid it as I authorized it. I should have asked what the cost was first. Called them and told them no more grub prevention. I will either do it myself or hire another company. I am starting to look for another company now who can charge the correct tax rates and who is more reasonable on pricing grub prevention. Hate to lose Dave, it is not his fault that the new owners are not that concerned about their customers."

Lawn Fertilization and Treatment questions, answered by experts

Whether you’re putting down fresh seed or reseeding, there are a few things to keep in mind when seeding your lawn. Be sure to choose the correct seed for your climate, seed at the right time of year, and water two to three times a day for the first week. Generally, Dudley recommends seeding in spring and fall as it is usually cooler and rainier.

Sulfur makes grass greener as it creates a rich, healthy growing environment. It can help reduce the pH level in the soil to ensure the roots can get all the nutrients they need, such as nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium. Sulfur also makes grass denser, lusher, and stronger. It’s a soil amendment that can make a big difference in the health and appearance of your lawn.

The best type of fertilizer depends on the type of grass and your desired end result. Generally speaking, slow-release fertilizers are best for grass, as they gradually release nutrients into your soil instead of all at once, which meets the needs of many grass types. However, the tradeoff is that slow-release fertilizers contain phosphorus, which negatively impacts local water quality. Also, some grasses require different formulations to meet the demands of the soil. Test your soil to see how acidic or alkaline it is before choosing a fertilizer.

A spot herbicide for weed control is effective at killing crabgrass and not grass, but it depends on the type of herbicide. Always check the label to ensure that your herbicide is safe for grass but tough on crabgrass. Overall, spot treatment is ideal because it puts fewer herbicides into the soil, which can damage the soil. If you’re wanting a natural remedy to crabgrass that also won’t harm surrounding grass, you can also hand-remove crabgrass or even pour boiling water or 5% vinegar over crabgrass as a spot treatment.

Lawn care is tough work—even when you hire pros, there’s no guarantee your grass won’t die (unless, of course, your company offers a guarantee). But lawn care companies don’t control the rain or watering restrictions. Your type of grass also impacts the type of care required to keep a lush lawn—and how much that care costs. Talk to a lawn care pro to determine the best times to treat your lawn based on type of grass and your climate.
