"I hired this company to install a fence. I had a wonderful experience with Mark and Scott. They went above and beyond on my job. I have dogs and they made sure my job was done quickly. I would hire them again!"

"HHH Construction installed a fence for my husband and I. They did an amazing job! Paul was very personable and honest from the time we met him. We knew from the time he came out to give us an estimate we wanted him to build our fence. Iâ  ve already hired Paul to complete another job and possibly a couple more this summer.. we had 2 other people get their contact information from us after they saw them building our fence. If you want honest work and hard working men, then you should definitely book with HHH Construction."

"He did terrific work. He did great work. He did it under four hours. But the quality of his work was real good. He had to go purchase the materials. There was a lot of external pressure to get the thing done. We got the referral. We called him. He showed early that morning on time. He went out and bought the material and did the work. In 3 hours and 45 minutes he was finished. I was very happy with his work. I would recommended that guy anywhere."

Awnings questions, answered by experts

Awnings offer a number of benefits, including:

  • Reduced summer home cooling costs with lower solar heat gains

  • Protection from sun, rain, and snow damage

  • Increased curb appeal for your home

Keep in mind that awnings also have drawbacks, including the potential to reduce your view, block natural light, and create new occasional home maintenance needs.

It’s not a good idea to allow heavy rain to fall on your awning, as puddling can occur and overload the awning. Your awning should be able to handle a light rain, though you should allow it to dry out before retracting it or open it to dry as soon as the rain stops. As always, consult manufacturer guidelines for using and caring for your awning.

The main disadvantage of an awning window is that you can’t use it to escape in an emergency. Another disadvantage of awning windows is that they can get dirty quicker than other types of windows that don’t open outward, especially if you keep them open when it’s raining or snowing. You can hire a local window replacement installer to decide if an awning window is right for your home.

Yes, you can convert a fabric awning to a metal one. You just need to swap the fabric for metal panels, which are more durable and weather-resistant. However, the support frame will probably need reinforcement to handle the added weight. You should consult a pro to address any structural concerns.

Besides the type of awning, you’ll need to choose the type of cover. Your awning installation professional will review your options with you, including availability and costs. The types of covers you can choose from include:

  • Wood, which is durable but can be damaged easily by rainwater and fire

  • Cotton offers flexibility, weatherproofing, and easy cleaning

  • Canvas is highly durable and is a good choice for retractable awnings

  • Metal is sturdy but is prone to rust

  • Polyester is easy to clean and is a more breathable option

  • Polycarbonate is highly resistant to UV rays and is difficult to damage
