"BUYER BEWARE!!!!! This company is all about getting their $99.00 for the estimate, selling you an annual service fee and then quoting exuberant prices. Not really sure if they really care about doing the actual plumbing work. Recently gave me an estimate for a job of $500. Learned later after from another plumber that what they wanted to do was actually not correct AND should have cost no more than $250. Had I used Fayette Heating / H20 Mastero, I would have paid $600 for a job done incorrectly. At least the 99.00 I paid kept me from damaging my house further. There are a lot of reputable plumbers in Lexington. Suggest you look elsewhere"

When your HVAC system is loud, a few different causes are possible. If you have loose connections or bolts in the hardware, they can rattle as the system runs and vibrates. Most central AC units last around 15 years, and window units last for between eight and 10 years. If your central AC is more than 10 years old or your window AC is over six years old, you should consider replacing the AC unit rather than repairing it. The repair will fix your issue, but you’ll likely save money in the long run by replacing it rather than repairing it only to replace it a few years later.

Most units are designed only to cool the house down to 20 degrees less than the temperature outside. This means that if it’s 99 degrees Fahrenheit out and you’re trying to cool your home down to 65 degrees, you’ll notice your AC is struggling. 

Lower the blinds on all your windows, turn on your ceiling fans, and keep the thermostat at a consistent temperature to help your AC do its job. Investing in an HVAC maintenance plan also helps because pros will come out to inspect and tune up your unit regularly, keeping it in optimal working condition.

A dirty AC filter can lower the efficiency of your system, so depending on how dirty it was, you may notice a temperature difference when you clean your filter. You can try other solutions if your AC isn’t blowing as cold as it used to. You can call in a local HVAC tech to make sure everything is running correctly, fix your air seal if it’s a window unit, and clean your coils.

While it’s possible to only replace an evaporator coil to keep your AC running, this could cause issues down the line. An AC system relies on the harmony between its condenser and evaporator coils for efficient operation. Replacing only one coil, especially in older units, can cause compatibility issues, leading to inefficiency and potential system breakdown. 

As AC units near the end of their expected lifespan, investing in the cost for a new AC system is typically better than paying for individual component upgrades to avoid costly repairs and ensure optimal performance.
