Dryer Vent Cleaning
The work was done in July 2018, so I'm a little late submitting this review. My vent runs inside the wall from the ground floor to the roof and the house has a second floor so it's a very long vent. We had just gotten a new dryer that had a flow sensor on it and it would't run but a few minutes because the vent was clogged. These guys worked hard to get it cleaned out from the inside and from on the roof. That night the sensor on the dryer came on again so there was still some blockage. The guys from 1 Choice Mechanical came out the next day at no charge and cleaned the vent again. It's worked great ever since then. Our clothes dry in no time. They were punctual and professional. We couldn't be happier.

We have a Home AC mini-split system made by Rheem. It is only 8 years old and been refilled with R22 every year since 2015. It is a small slow leak or leaks that is hard to pinpoint. We had every test done on it and 3 pros have said we have this type of leakage. We believe most likely due to defective Rheem Coils that were recalled and replaced under warranty. The 5 year warranty has expired so we must now pay either a little or a lot preferably a little to keep it running. Most companies want us to replace with estimates ranging from 2600-8900. I would like to at least try to seal it for a few hundred now even if could give only another year or two. We have researched it and results are mixed but we would have nothing to lose by trying sealant because either that or total replacement is the only option. Which brings me to this review. I look up Angie’s List and this company highly rated for years straight A consumer choice etc. So I call them and ask if they can do that Sealant Injection into my Freon and about how much it would cost. The lady says she would call someone else and get back to me. She calls back a few minutes later to say they WON’T do it. Without giving any reason just said WON’T do it. So, they refused to provide a HVAC Service and I don’t know why. Is it illegal, dangerous, liability issues or just too trivial? What happened to the customer is always right? If I have a business that can do it and a customer wants it and willing to pay and understands the possible results then why would I refuse to please that customer? Some sort of ethical issue? I’m sure the Job would’ve paid them well enough at least several hundred on a service call but only reply was NO. I just find it peculiar they are rated so highly on Angie’s List but can refuse services for which are expected from a reputable HVAC Company. I want Angie’s List people to know that just because these guys rate high doesn’t mean you’ll get what you want with your money. They did not make this potential customer happy with their reply that is why I wrote this review.

New AC unit in 2016 with recent problem being the third issue with unit since installed. Parts covered by warranty but labor and freon refill not. Most recently coil found leaking and needed to be replaced. I explained to owner past problems including my thought 3 breakdowns was excessive for newer unit. He said he would work with us to get it fixed to our satisfaction and he did just that. I would call them again for HVAC service.

Absolutely no problems. The installers were professional, efficient and took care of all problems. The price was reasonable and no hidden charges. I would highly recommend One Choice Mechanical and will use them in the future. When I had the old furnace and ac serviced in the past, the technician was methodical and my old furnace ran better than it ever had. After 45 years of service out of my old furnace and ac, it finally bit the dust. Hopefully, the new one will outlive me.

Called ahead and arrived a couple hours earlier than scheduled which was a good thing. Troubleshooting was quick. Unfortunately, it took 2 trips to get parts because the supply house didn't give the tech the correct part the first time.

Did not call before arriving as we were told they would do 30 min before; Arrived in time slot stated 3:00pm -5:00pm
One tech. Performed inspection of furnace while other set in van, come in a few seconds and back to van several times
After service complete and Tech's left, found air conditioner running and had to figure out why schedule would not resume, found tech's left thermostat in permanent hold with temp's set at their settings

I would say great but I had to get a new unit. AC Stopped working and One Choice came out quickly and diagnosed the problem. Tech tried a fix, but that only lasted a few hours. Returned and determined we needed a new condenser coil. Decided to replace outside unit as well. One day service to replace units and cool the house again. They deducted service call from first visit and gave me $250 off cost The price was very good. Neighbors had units replaced at twice the price. I have had a preventive maintenance contract with One Choice for over ten years. They do great professional work.

We own a manufactured home. They are different then other houses. We had three estimates. The first one did a great job but did not measure anything. The second one measure things but wanted to take some of the wall out but we had to get someone else to do that. Than later that day they called us and said they did not want to do the job. So I called one choice mechanical and told them to send someone who is an expert and they did. Mr. Coover did a great job. He told me what he would do and even drew pictures for me because I was not sure about it. What made me happy was knowing they did this before. They did the job in one day even the rain did not stop them. They even came back out and put a door on the unit so we would not have to take seven screws out every time to change the filters. I am very happy with the job they did.
