"S&B did an excellent job on our deck around our pool. From start to finish they were very professional and concerned with our opinions to give us exactly what we wanted. They were by far the most reasonable price with their estimates and I was highly impressed with their quality of work that they did for us. I felt like they basically treated the project as if they were building the deck for themselves with the attention to the details they put into the deck. I would highly recommend them to anyone looking to complete any similar projects or any other woodworking jobs. I have used them for two other projects already. They made a toy box for our first grandchild that was the highlight of her first Christmas and they made a wooden bench for our dining room table. We have been satisfied with all their work and plan on using them again in the future."

Looking for an affordable way to fence your dog? Outdoor Pet Solutions is Nashville's #1 choice in pet containment. Our electronic hidden dog fences are 100% Made in the USA and our exclusive Gentle Approach training program insures your dog experiences a fun stress free training process.

"Adam installed a pet door for us. Doesn't sound like a big deal, right? Actually, it is a pretty big deal to do. First of all, the door where the doggy door needed to go was double-glazed glass with metal grids between the glass panes, and the door is steel-clad. Second, our dog is a Great Pyrenees and 30 inches tall at the shoulder - she's a giant dog and needs literally a giant-sized doggy door. Adam was an excellent communicator during the entire process of ordering the right parts and coming to the house to perform the installation. He was on time and did a professional job. I have installed doggy doors myself for this beast of a dog, and I have paid other professional doggy door installers at other homes to provide that service. Adam's finished product is head and shoulders above what either I or other professionals that I've hired in the past have delivered. First rate experience, first rate workmanship. I would definitely recommend Adam for any similar kind of work. Attention to detail is exceptional."

Animal Fencing questions, answered by experts

Lattice should not touch the ground, as it creates a possibility for rot and a termite infestation. It’s best to leave a gap of 3 or 4 inches at the bottom for airflow and to keep the wood dry. You can add stones, bricks, or other decorative pieces to conceal the bottom of the lattice if desired.

How long a fence lasts, including a split rail fence, will depend on the material from which it’s made. The average lifespan of a wood fence is about 15 to 20 years. However, split rail fences made out of premium materials, like composite, vinyl, steel, or aluminum, can last for 25 to 30 years or more, especially if you take good care of the material and carry out necessary maintenance.

Concrete is one of the easiest, most cost-efficient, and most effective ways to stabilize a fence post. To stabilize a fence post with concrete, you’ll dig a hole around the post in question and fill it up with concrete—easy as that. Concrete lasts about 50 years on average, so it’s a long-term solution.

Yes, a well-built fence can increase your home value as it improves your property’s curb appeal and also provides enhanced security. Online studies show that fences have a 50% recovery rate, meaning investing $10,000 in a new fence can potentially increase your property value by $5,000 in the end. The number may fluctuate depending on the quality, material, and design of your fence.

The average cost to install a fence that is 200 feet in length is $4,600, but this largely depends on the type of fence you build. For instance, a 200-linear-foot redwood fence costs between $3,600 and $7,000.
