Super Service Award Winners for 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, and 2016. Kitchen remodeling can be easy and affordable with Renovation Pros. By using all solid hardwood doors and drawer fronts, I will dramatically change the way you look at your kitchen. Being a small custom shop, I can make alterations to your existing cabinets like adding drawers, trash slide outs or even appliance lifts and more! I can also complete your entire project, including countertops, backsplashes, and even add under cabinet lighting. My installation process takes just days and there's minimal remodeling mess. Most importantly, you deal with me from our first meeting to the end. I will meet with you, build it, and install it. You are hiring me, not paying me to send a bunch of other people into your home! Let’s be honest, there are lots of companies who can build you new doors and cabinets, but only one who puts customer service first! Quality control starts and ends with me. If you are considering renovating your kitchen, please give me a call for a free consultation and estimate. I cover within a 200 mile radius from downtown Kansas City. Additional email - [email protected].

"Renovation Pros KC recently completely refaced my entire kitchen with incredible results. Chad Stock came out to our home twice with samples, and really spent time with me to ensure the finished product would be exactly what I wanted. I felt extremely comfortable with his work crew in my home, and they cleaned up daily before they left. The job was done on time, and to my extreme satisfaction. Chad even recommended some inexpensive design changes that made a world of difference to the look and efficiency of my kitchen. He was able to work around my existing granite counters and tile backsplash. My new cabinet doors are thick, solid quality wood with a beautiful finish. The drawers were completely replaced with larger drawers that slide closed silently. An unused wine rack in the old cabinets was converted to additional, hidden storage with cabinet doors. The huge light box over the island was removed, and the island cabinets were stained a contrasting luscious dark chocolate. The old, outdated Golden Oak is gone! My husband and I could not be happier with the value and quality of our new kitchen! The pictures attached to this review are Before & After. The light, golden oak is before, and the gorgeous cherry cabinets are the finished product. I attended the Home Show and researched several companies with quotes before choosing Renovation Pros KC. The kitchen is the heart of my home, and results were incredibly important to me. I'm glad I chose this company to work with."

Cabinet Making questions, answered by experts

Yes, sanding cabinets before you stain them helps the new stain better adhere to the surface. If you’re adding a darker stain to previously stained wood, you only have to sand them lightly enough to remove any finish and rough up the wood to improve adhesion. On the other hand, if you’re trying to stain wood that is a darker color or that has paint on it, you need to sand down to the original wood, or the color will show through the new stain.

Basic drawer construction requires standard tools, including a saw, drill, measuring tools, and clamps. Advanced joinery benefits from table saw or router capabilities. Most DIYers can complete simple drawers with tools they already own or can borrow.

Removing kitchen cabinets can vary in difficulty depending on factors like experience, the cabinet's installation method, and any obstacles or complexities involved. Generally, it's a moderately difficult task that requires basic carpentry skills and tools and, ideally, a helper to support the weight of the cabinets during removal. Disconnecting utilities beforehand can complicate the project, and it’s best to hire a pro if you’re not confident in your skills.

There should be at least 30 inches of space between the top of the stove, whether gas or electric, and the bottom of any upper cabinets. This typically provides enough clearance to prevent heat damage and meet most building code requirements. If you’re installing a range hood, follow the manufacturer’s guidelines. It may require even more space.

You can stack upper kitchen cabinets, but they may not fit neatly. Because upper kitchen cabinets are typically available in these standard sizes—12, 15, 18, 24, 30, 36, and 42 inches—you can stack various-sized upper cabinets. But, depending on your ceiling height, these standard sizes may not work together. That’s why smaller stacked cabinets are a much more stylish and economical choice.
