"I’ve used Anthony Heating & Plumbing for close to 8 years. They’ve replaced heating/A/C and water heater. They also have done some plumbing, fixed a sump pump issue, installed new PVC pipes for better flow and do annual general maintenance on my A/C and heater. They are punctual, friendly and clean. A few of my neighbors began using them."

"Dave from Foundation Recovery came and did my annual basement inspection. I’ve had a sump pump - and gutters to direct the water to it - installed by them, for three years. And so far I’ve had no water in my basement. Even during the heavy spring rains in KC. Dave was very friendly and professional, and very knowledgeable about basements and their problems. He answered all my questions to my satisfaction. I appreciate the great service Dave! Thanks."

"I called Paul after a contractor had walked out of my remodeling job. He came right away to see what needed to be done and sent me an estimate via e-mail. The estimate included installing a sump pump in the basement which hasn't been done yet, but I will call Pall to install it when I am ready to do the work.
When I contacted him to do the work, he said he could start right away. He did not ask for a down payment or sub contract the work as my previous contractor had.
Much of the work Paul and Mark and Rex  did was to correct deficiencies in the previous contractor's work. The two pendant lights had been installed without boxes, and the switches for the patio light and kitchen light didn't work. The tile around the fireplace did not line up and four pieces needed to be removed and reset. Rex did this work plus all the caulking, ceiling repair and installing the finish strips around the cabinets.
The big part of the job was the painting and Mark is the best painter I have ever had work on my house. Everyone paid close attention to details and pointed out what could and could not be fixed. They were eager to make sure I was satisfied with their work. I couldn't be happier."

"They have been out for the electrical. They have been out for the pool. They have been out for the sump pump. Its the fee for the service call. We have used them for the last 3 years. If you have an appliance that you think needs replaced they will not replace it they will repair it to death. They are very responsive. Some of the people they send out are great, some are okay."

Sump Pump Installation questions, answered by experts

Repairs typically take 1-2 hours, while replacements, depending on accessibility, may require up to 4 hours.

A sump pump should be placed at least three feet deep in a pit. The rim of the sump pump basin should be level with your basement floor. If you find your pit is too deep, you can fill the bottom with gravel until the rim of the sump pump is flush with the floor.

In most cases, standard homeowners insurance policies do not cover damage from a sump pump failure or overflow. Coverage for water damage is often limited to sudden, unexpected events like a burst pipe that was not caused by negligence. To be covered for sump pump issues, you will likely need to purchase a specific rider, endorsement, or additional water backup insurance. If your insurer offers this type of coverage, they may require proof that your sump pump is regularly maintained.

A sewage ejector pump is necessary if you have any plumbing fixtures, such as a bathroom, laundry room, or sink, located below the level of your home's main sewer line. Standard plumbing relies on gravity to drain wastewater and solid waste into the municipal sewer system or a septic tank. For fixtures below this level, like those in a basement, gravity cannot move the waste upward. The ejector pump provides the force needed to pump the sewage up to the main line. Without one, wastewater from below-ground fixtures would back up, potentially causing a sewage overflow and flooding. If all of your plumbing is on the main floor or higher, gravity is sufficient and an ejector pump is not needed.

There are several indicators that your washing machine’s drain pump is bad, including incomplete cycles, water not draining, lack of spinning, a foul odor when the machine is running, and a loud grinding or buzzing noise when the pump is trying to move water down the drain.
