My name is Omar Vela, owner of VP Concrete Solutions. I started this business from the ground up with one goal in mind — to provide honest, high-quality concrete work that people can trust. Growing up around the concrete industry through my family, I learned early on the importance of hard work, dedication, and doing every job the right way the first time.\n\nConcrete is more than just work to me — it is something I take pride in every single day. With years of hands-on experience in both residential and commercial concrete projects, I understand how important quality craftsmanship and customer satisfaction truly are. From small projects to large jobs, I treat every project with the same level of care and professionalism.\n\nAt VP Concrete Solutions, we believe in honest work, fair pricing, and building strong relationships with our customers. "First of all, I highly recommend A.L.F. Heating, Cooling!! I got in contact with Austin about a replacing our old central heat and air system and he was very quick to reply and discuss our needs. He found us a whole system that fit right into our budget and had the whole thing installed in a couple of days. The price he gave us included everything; there were no extra charges for anything extra, but let's not forget the all the little extras he did do for us at no extra charge. He went above and beyond to do a good job! After a few days of running our new A/C I can say everything works perfectly and we're nice and comfortable once again. So no matter what your needs are, give these guys a call, they are very nice, very polite, and will do their best do a good job for you and keep you on budget. I highly recommend A.L.F. Cooling and Heating and home repair!"

Asphalt Driveways questions, answered by experts

Driveways should be sloped with a minimum 2% slope—anything lower will cause precipitation and runoff to collect. A 2% slope is the equivalent of a 2-foot rise over 100 feet. One quick way to check the integrity of your driveway’s slope: no more than four inches of water should collect on the surface longer than 15 minutes after rain.

Gravel is the most economical and least expensive driveway material, costing between $1 and $3 per square foot. This is significantly cheaper than alternatives like asphalt or concrete. However, it's important to consider long-term costs, as gravel driveways require regular maintenance. You will likely need to add new gravel filling once or twice a year and regularly rake it to keep it level, which can add to the overall cost over time.

Building a road on a slope requires careful planning and will normally require a drainage system underneath to prevent flooding and damage to the road over time. Your professional may lengthen your road to create switchbacks if the slope directly to your home is too steep, as there are regulations for maximum road slope. The drainage system will help prevent runoff from the higher side of the slope from damaging the asphalt or concrete. Keep in mind that building a road on a slope isn’t a good DIY project, as a lot can go wrong.

Asphalt is made of aggregate materials (sand, rocks, and gravel) and bitumen, a viscous, petroleum-based, waterproof substance. These materials are mixed together at extremely high temperatures to form asphalt.

Chip seal layers gravel and a liquid bitumen one at a time on-site, while asphalt directly pours a pre-combined mixture. Asphalt must be sealed, but it will last up to four times as long as chip seal driveways. Aesthetically, chip seal has a natural, rustic look compared to the traditional asphalt slab.
