"Great experience with our foundation stabilization. Charlie, our representative, was knowledgeable and easygoing. Brogan and his work team (Aaron, Caden, and Kody) navigated rocky soil full of boulders and tight working spaces to get the job done and done well. The team was polite, professional, and cared about the finished product. Highly recommended."

"Make sure you ask questions. After getting a clear understandable explanation of why and what they were doing, I felt I was getting my money's worth. They were a bit pricey. Workers were prompt, courteous and were careful of our property."

"We needed some major work on our driveway and had reached out to a company. After almost 5 weeks of almost no communication I gave up and found Anthony. He did such an incredible job. He kept us informed of every step of the way. He spent time going over every thing that was going to be done, how it was to be done and he kept his word. He let us know every day when he would be here and he worked all day. He is intelligent and solved all the issues we were dealing with. We would definitely hire Anthony again. He is fair priced, very personable and does an excellent job."

"I hired Adam to replace an old chain link fence that I had with a new cedar fence, although the actual start date would about a month away when I would be out of town. When that date actually got here Adam was here exactly when he promised to be and on my return 5 days later the new fence was up and he was finishing with the double wide gate. The entire job looked amazing and I won't hesitate for a minute to use him again in the future. Adam knows exactly what he is doing and he is very professional. Steve 5/2026"

Masonry questions, answered by experts

The best color to paint a brick fireplace comes down to personal taste. However, neutral colors—like white or gray—will open the space and create a bright modern look, making them popular options. However, choosing a bold color can turn your fireplace into a feature piece that will be the talk of all family gatherings.

Some older brick material is extremely hard, making it tough to create a hole. Rather than using a typical wood drill bit, always use a masonry drill bit when drilling into brick. For extremely hard brick, using a power drill with a hammer function may give you better results. The drill bit will heat up as it goes into the extremely hard brick, so you may need to stop after a few minutes and allow the bit to cool before starting to drill again.

Certain towns and homeowner associations (HOAs) ban brick mailboxes because of the risk of obstruction. They are sometimes only permitted in cases where four or more homes share a mailbox. Homeowners may need to obtain special permits in some locations. One of the top masonry contractor hiring tips is to ask a local pro if they can show you examples of recent work that meets local code regulations.

Most of the time, you don’t need to seal brickwork and can save that money for another area of home improvement. But if your brick is cracking or you live in an area with a lot of excess moisture (either in terms of rain or freezes), sealing can extend the lifetime of your home. But, make sure you use a breathable sealant, like siloxane, to allow the moisture to evaporate on its own.

Yes, it is normal to see some minor hairline cracks in brick or mortar over time, often due to natural foundation settling. However, not all cracks are harmless. You should be concerned and contact a masonry professional for an inspection if you notice cracks that are getting wider or longer, or if new ones keep appearing. Other serious warning signs that can indicate significant structural or foundation damage include large vertical cracks (especially those that widen as they go up), stair-step cracks, L-shaped cracks, and deep horizontal cracks. Factors like temperature changes, moisture, and structural loading can also cause cracks to form or worsen.
