"I'll finish review later if app allows it. I'm still learning how to use it! : ) Freshco has been great so far. Andrea, 1st contact,, was so nice and highly knowledgeable. She had Ben contact me with info on there service, what they can do, and cost. He was fantastic! They called me to ask if could reschedule due to an emergency service needed to be done...I said no problem of course - They came on a Sunday! ? Professional, courteous, knowledgeable all the way! He advised me that if I have mold damage, it's not as bad...he explained it would be cheaper and just as efficient to have carpet in area reviewed replaced. I need to confirm I got email of the evaluation results before I complete this review. So far might earn 5 of 5 ?!"
"AHS is ok. They cover repairs of most everything under the roof of your house. The companies that contract with them are not always the best. You call AHS with the issue, they send a fax to the repair company and give you the contact info. If they don't contact you within 24 hours, you call them. Sometimes they answer, sometimes they don't. When they arrive (usually three days or so later), they service the item. if it has issues within the 90 days, you call AHS again, they are sent out with no charge. If the serviceman decides the unit is unrepairable, AHS will allow you to choose a replacement from their listing (usually not as good as what you have) they will install and remove your old item, or give you wholesale amount to buy and install your own. Prices vary on what you want covered and what you want the copay to be, plus where you live. For me it is 49.99 per month with a 75.00 time of service order. You can have more than one item serviced at the same time under the same fee. If you have a SEAR product the repair guys are great. Not that wild about the other ones they send out. But it is a big savings compared to calling someone on your own. The cost of service is only the 75.00 copay."
"They treated me fairly and were very responsive as they maintained great customer contact. The owners were involved with the project and came out every day to check on the job. They even followed up twice after the project was complete to make sure I was satisfied with the end results and to make sure everything was working out."

Mold Testing and Remediation FAQs, answered by experts
Eliminating mold from wood permanently poses a challenge as the mold spores have the ability to deeply penetrate the porous wood surface. While surface mold can be effectively eradicated with proper cleaning and preventative measures, it's difficult to guarantee its non-recurrence under favorable conditions. To prevent mold from reappearing, it is important to identify and resolve the root cause of the moisture that triggered mold growth initially.
Ensuring appropriate ventilation and a dry environment, or consider applying protective finishes such as sealant, varnish, or paint to prevent future moisture penetration and mold growth. Consistently inspect and maintain the area to keep the wood free from mold in the long term.
DIY kits are available for basic air quality testing, but professional services provide more comprehensive results and recommendations. While a DIY kit may seem cost-effective, a professional assessment is more thorough. Inspectors are better equipped to catch all pollutants and hazards, and you'll still need a professional to verify and act on DIY test results. Furthermore, some kits don't test for certain pollutants or only detect their presence without measuring specific levels (like mold spores). It's generally better to opt for a detailed professional assessment.
The signs of asbestos exposure are often subtle and may not appear for many years, or even decades, after initial contact. This long latency period is one of the primary dangers associated with asbestos.
When symptoms do manifest, they can include:
Shortness of breath
A persistent, dry cough
Chest pain or tightness
Fatigue
Wheezing
Weight loss
Difficulty swallowing
A dry, crackling sound from the lungs when breathing
These symptoms are non-specific and can be mistaken for other respiratory conditions, making diagnosis challenging. Prolonged exposure can lead to serious diseases as the asbestos fibers cause scarring and inflammation in the lungs. These conditions include asbestosis, lung cancer, and mesothelioma.
Due to the vague nature of early symptoms, regular medical check-ups are crucial for anyone with a known history of asbestos exposure, particularly in an occupational setting. If you suspect asbestos is present in your home, a professional inspection is recommended.
Most of the health problems associated with exposure to fiberglass insulation are short-term in nature. You may suffer from minor and temporary skin or eye irritation if you come into contact with it, and you may experience some sneezing, coughing, or breathing issues if you inhale fiberglass. Those with asthma and allergies may suffer more and longer. Though fiberglass was once a suspected carcinogen, there’s now no good evidence that exposure to fiberglass can cause lung cancer.
Both wood-burning stoves and fireplaces can emit smoke and other combustion gases that are harmful to human health. According to the American Lung Association, wood smoke can lead to coughing and wheezing as well as long-term health impacts like increased risks for heart attacks and stroke.
Newer models meet the modern efficiency standards set in 2020 by the Environmental Protection Agency for cleaner burning, more efficient wood stoves. Regular maintenance can also minimize smoke.
