"I needed a lot of foundation work done--adjustable jacks, stabilizing piers, geo-lock wall anchors and carbon steel stripping along my foundation. Peak Structural was amazing. From the receptionist who answered my panicked phone call the first day to my sales person, Tim Miller, who made special trips to my home and responded to me on weekends, to the crew who actually performed the work (Greg, Spenser and Brandon), who went above and beyond to repair a broken sprinkler line all the way to Brayden my project manager who communicated with me constantly, was very accommodating and was always one step ahead of me. I can't say enough about Peak Structural. They secured the foundation of my home for life and gave me much needed peace of mind."

"The company was extremely knowledgable and polite. Their portfolio and homes they referred us to view were outstanding. Unfortunately their prices are beyond our reach, We purchased a deal that advertised a 90% savings on $11,000.00 for up to 2,000 sq. feet of siding replacement and woodrot repair. While we understand there are always costs left out of these deals our last meeting with the contractor left us a bid of $8980.00 for siding replacement of less then 1200 sq. feet. Additionally our big deal price of $1049.00 for is now being called a deposit on the overall job and not the 10% cost after a 90% savings on the $11,000.00 they claim 2,000 sq. feet of siding replacement costs."

Foundation Repair questions, answered by experts

The best foundation repair method will depend on the issue you’re having, but usually, foundation instability is best fixed using supportive piers, like steel piers or helical piers. A professional foundation repair contractor or structural engineer should always decide what the best course of action is, and even then, it’s imperative that you also take measures to treat the underlying issue as well, like soil erosion or oversaturation from runoff.

While it can be difficult to identify a bad foundation at first glance, look for large horizontal cracks, discoloration, bulging basement walls, or signs of water damage. You may also see large gaps between the home and the foundation on the outside or signs of pooling water from a recent storm.

The most expensive foundation repair method is to install helical piers. Helical piers are a type of steel pier used to support sinking foundations in areas with poor soil conditions or deep bedrock. This foundation repair method can cost up to $3,000 per pier, including labor, because of its material and labor-intensive installation process. Total foundation repair costs can easily reach over $20,000 using this method.

If your foundation isn’t properly square, there’s a chance that anything you built before detecting the issue may need to be torn down. A major miscalculation could leave some walls of your home unsupported.

You could DIY the work, but unless you have plumber’s knowledge for identifying and fixing a slab leak and specialized equipment in your tool shed, attempting to DIY your slab leak repair isn’t a good idea. It’s simply not something that the average homeowner can take on themselves, regardless of how many successful DIY projects they’ve got under their belt. You could, however, do something simple like foundation waterproofing yourself to save some money on the post-repair work.
