"Awesome job of insulating the attic willing to explain any concerns .felt sorry for the tech because of the high temperature that day but he never complained. Great job"
"I was scheduled within a week and the job was completed in 2 days. I felt he was thorough getting insulation in every nook and cranny. Very satisfied."
"In December of 2011 my parents had decided to update the attic space. I offered to help them out with the search for a contractor as I was already a member of Angie’s list and had great success finding other professional services on here. I started with the highest rated companies and set up appointments to review and run through the scope of work that was needed on my parent’s house. After I had met with Young Remodeling I knew that I had found out contractor. While we had ideas about what we wanted in the space the suggestions and recommendations from Paul certainly helped guide us though the remodel of the kitchen as updating an 80 year old house had its share of issues. The space in question had a lot of issues to deal with. My dad in his do it yourself desires had started the project, and it did not end well. Also the windows were sadly outdated. The space was not being utilized well and had become a home for wayward items. Insulation was unheard of in the space and the thought of use of the attic in summer and winter, unheard of. My parents wanted a new bedroom in this space and wanted to make it useable. Young Construction came in and thoroughly examined the space and reviewed options available to us. What once was a dumping ground turned into an incredible 3rd floor bedroom. The final result was a vast improvement over what was originally envisioned. The attic is now a full 3rd bedroom with walk in closets, vast storage space, and ½ baths. My parents could not have been happier. Young Construction did a remarkable job; they offered insight and guidance to many of the final decisions in the space that helped make it function better. The care and effort that went into ensuring that the project went smooth in an example to the professionalism that contractors should use when people invite them in their home to do work. I would recommend Young Construction for your next project."

"Roberto was the technician and he was very professional, polite, and personable. He inspected the rest of our system and told us things that needed to be changed or repaired. He showed me pictures of everything. Everything he told me about was accurate. He quoted me a price for R38 insulation , Some of our ducts were plastic and he recommended them to be changed. I agreed completely and didn't know they were plastic. I would have had them done the work but I had no price comparisons to make and besides I didn't have the money right then. So he just finished the vent cleaning and left his card. He did a great job on the vent cleaning and was happy with the work."

"I recently had the pleasure of working with Middle Water LLC for spray foam insulation on a client's home and was thoroughly impressed by their professionalism and quality of work. The team consistently showed up on time and adhered strictly to the bid they provided, showcasing their commitment to reliability and integrity. Their dedication and work ethic, particularly the impressive contributions from the hardworking Amish labor, were remarkable. Based on this experience, I have confidently referred Middle Water LLC to another client, who is now planning to use their services as well. The excellent job they did, combined with their punctuality and adherence to the bid, make them a standout choice for insulation services. I am so satisfied with their work that I intend to use them for my own home, which I plan to build in the near future. Middle Water LLC has earned my highest recommendation for anyone seeking top-notch spray foam insulation for their home or business."
"This is the 2nd time I have used VantagePoint Exteriors to install windows for me. First time was in a condominium and from an Angie's Big Deal. Loved the windows and they did a good job so used them again when I bought a house. I gave a B on price but they are competitive with other companies. Double hung, double paned windows are just plain expensive. The windows are awesome and are Heartland windows. But windows are only as good as they are installed. My crew (Willy, Justin, and Anthony) were truly superior. I was there the entire time and I know they went above and beyond. I had a beautiful bay window put in where I had a triple window. It is unbelievably good looking and they had to do extra work because of how heavy it was. Built knee braces and insulated and trimmed it out in the interior because it needed wider trim. Truly did an great job. Justin and Anthony are hard working, polite, young men. Willy knows everything there is about installing windows (and is a joker too!). It did take almost 2 months for my windows to come in after being ordered but that's just how it is. I'm sure the window company (in the good ole USA, Iowa) is busy because they truly make a great product. VantagePoint now does siding also which they did not do when I had my first windows installed. They are much busier this time around as it is a husband-wife team but they want to do right by their customers. You may have to ask for something or remind them of something that needs done but it will get done. They will be back at my house this fall to finish up my last 8 windows. "

There are many reasons one bedroom may be hotter than the rest of the house. The sun will quickly heat a south-facing bedroom with a large window, especially if it lacks quality curtains. If the room has poor insulation, this could let more warm outside air in. Upstairs bedrooms are often hotter than ground-floor rooms because heat rises. Finally, rooms further away from the air conditioning unit may heat up a lot if the system is not properly balanced.
For standard 2x4 walls, the ideal insulation has an R-value between R-13 and R-15. This level of insulation, typically around 3.5 inches thick, fits well within the wall cavity. Common options include fiberglass batts and spray foam. The best choice for your home can depend on your climate; use R-value maps, like those from Energy Star, to determine the recommended level for your region. For colder climates, you might also consider adding exterior insulation for greater efficiency. Always check with your local building codes to ensure you meet any required standards.
Natural fiber batts and spray foam insulation both work great for soundproofing. Newer materials, such as hemp batts, are more expensive but more effective for insulation and sound blocking. They are also more sustainable. There is also a professional system called Blow-In Blanket Insulation (BIBS) that is soundproof and moisture-resistant. However, BIBS must be installed professionally and can be a costly investment.
Bubble wrap is better for moving since it can be cut to size, whereas dish foam comes in precut sheets that are harder to manipulate. However, if you’re packing items like dishes, wine glasses, picture frames, or mirrors, dish foam will protect them better. Ensure you measure your box beforehand so you know what size dish foam to purchase.
You can insulate an existing garage door. But while it’s a cost-effective option upfront, it may not perform as well as a garage door that comes with insulation. If you live in a colder climate—or if you plan on working in your garage and need a new door—you should purchase one with existing insulation for better efficiency.
