Neighborhood Painting & Restoration is a painting and restoration company. We are a licensed general contracting firm, so we offer a lot more construction services than your typical painting company. We have been servicing the Kansas City area since 2002. Our work is completed by expert tradesmen; we are a premium service provider who provides not only quality workmanship but a quality customer experience. If you would like a consultation from a company who takes pride in working on your home or business give us a call.

"I strongly caution anyone considering Neighborhood Painting. Their Angi profile claims they "do not believe in subcontracting out any of our services," but in reality Jacob, the owner, sent subcontractors to my home who did poor quality work, skipped surface preparation and priming, left overspray, and ignored obvious wood repair needs. Their negligence caused over $13,000 in property damage, and after almost three months of back-and-forth, there is still no resolution. Instead of taking accountability, Jacob pushed responsibility onto the subcontractors and failed to honor the terms of his own contract. Based on my experience, this company is untrustworthy and unreliable."

Lead Testing and Removal questions, answered by experts

If the lead paint is in a place that is not easily disturbed and is not flaking or deteriorating, you do not necessarily need to remove it. Lead is toxic when dust particles or flakes from peeling lead paint are ingested. If people are not in the area with the lead paint, it may be safe to leave it in place. You still may want to consider encapsulation with a paint formulated for covering lead-based paint, just for an added layer of protection.

Through air sampling devices and surface swabs in key areas of concern.

With regular testing, treatment, and maintenance, water from a community well should be safe to drink. Unfortunately, the EPA does not regulate private wells, and contamination can happen.

If you have doubts about the quality and safety of your drinking water, you have options for testing. You can pick up kits from your local home supply store or harvest samples and send them to a local testing facility. To get the most complete water quality testing and system diagnosis, seek a local well professional. They know what to test for and can recommend and implement a longer-lasting solution.

A DIY kit can lessen the sting that comes with paying for a professional assessment, but these comprehensive tests are true lifesavers. Inspectors are more likely to catch all of the pollutants and hazards in your air. Plus, you’ll still need a professional to verify and act on your DIY test results.

Some kits don’t include tests for certain air pollutants or only detect their presence, but not their levels (i.e., mold spores). If you’re willing to shell out money for a DIY kit, it’s usually better to stretch your budget slightly higher for a more detailed assessment.

Lead paint test kits are not always accurate. Several factors can play into why a test kit provides an inaccurate result such as user error, sample viability, the age and condition of the paint, or difficulty interpreting the final result. If you are looking for 100% accuracy, hiring a professional lead paint test is the only way to get that piece of mind.
