"We decided to update our 32-year old home?s kitchen in April 2012.  Paul and Linda helped us design a useable and beautiful space, which I can?t even believe is our kitchen.  We went from soffits above small cabinets and a peninsula with cabinets hanging down, blocking the family room, to a very open design with a huge island and wall cabinets all the way to the ceiling.
The work included:  All new cabinets with pull-out trays and soft-close doors and drawers and fantastic LED under-cabinet lighting; installed our door and drawer pulls; new travertine and mosaic backsplash; granite counter-tops; a fantastic sliding door where a regular door had been and new outside steps at this door; a lot of drywall work on the walls and ceiling, plus painting the ceiling and walls; new plumbing and faucet at the sink; a new vent to the outside for the stove (which was a very involved process); new LED can lights and pendants over the island; and many new electrical outlets. They also moved a ceiling light fixture to the living room and put up a new outside light over the new door.
I can?t say enough about Rex and Jamie.  Rex is a magician at making things look perfect and Jamie?s attention to detail in the electrical and plumbing areas was greatly appreciated.  Linda was a huge asset in choosing the elements of the remodel.
There were a couple of problems but they were successfully resolved.
The job was longer than originally expected, but Paul was working toward giving us the best value for our money by making sure we had quality products.  Even though we spent more than we originally budgeted, we got a very high-quality, beautiful remodel that has undoubtedly increased the value of our home."

Drain Pipe Installation questions, answered by experts

Yes, chemical drain cleaners contain sulfuric acid and hydrochloric acid, both of which are not only dangerous to your health but also extremely caustic. Drain cleaners will corrode your pipes and could lead to destroyed drain lines, especially if the chemicals interact with the piping for long periods. Unfortunately, this extended interaction is likely if you’re dealing with a clog, as the drain cleaner will have just as much trouble as water does moving through your plumbing system.

If your kitchen is flooding, first turn off the water supply and electricity before entering the room. Next, focus on immediate flood control by cleaning up any standing water with a sump pump or wet-dry vacuum to prevent long-term water damage to your home. Open your windows and run any dehumidifiers you have handy. Finally, call a professional plumber to help find the source of the flood and repair it.

To keep window wells from filling up with water, you need to stay on top of maintenance. Remove debris as it fills up, and regularly loosen the gravel at the base if it’s become compacted. You can also reslope your yard to make sure water flows away from the window well (and your home’s foundation), and you can even install a window well cover to prevent debris from building up. Installing an actual drainpipe at the base of the well can also prevent window well drainage problems.

Yes, short hair can clog a drain. While you might be tempted to blame the long-haired people living with you for a clogged drain, hair—no matter the length—can combine with soap scum and leftover shampoo to create a perfect storm of sticky mess that can cause your drain to slow down.

As a preventative measure, hydro jetting should be done every one to two years. However, the best practice is to hydro jet your sewer line once per year. The ideal frequency depends on several factors, including the age and condition of your pipes, how prone they are to clogging, how often the sewer line is used, and the type of waste disposed of in the system. If you frequently experience clogs or are unsure, it's best to ask a licensed plumber for a recommendation specific to your plumbing system.
