Small jobs welcome

"Chris and Beau did and excellent job completing the removal of old insulation in our attic space and installing new insulation. The work was done well and in a timely manner. We immediately notice the difference in a stable temperature on our second floor. I was however most impressed with the approach to communication they took with the estimate and the overall job. Chris clearly explained the process and did not try to upsell additional work we did not need. They showed up on time and did what they committed to doing. Just like they mention on the website, you can tell they take the same came they would with their own home. We have already scheduled them to do additional work at our house!"

"I had old asbestos insulation in a new house that we were moving into that we wanted removed and replaced. Dakota was quick to respond, come out to do a free quote, schedule and execute. I was worried that it would be expensive due to it being hazard cancer causing materials. But he had everything he needed to get it done quickly and safely and affordable! Amazing job!"

"It was a small job. They sealed the vents to the crawlspace, then, since there was already solid insulation panels on the walls, put a vapor/moisture barrier, in the form of a tarp, 4 feet wide and as long needed, completely around the crawlspace. It was then sealed to the walls with "nails" and adhesive. This seals the wood frame of the house from the 'Outside", the ground, which is the floor of the crawlspace. A 20 mil thick, quite heavy, "floor" was installed, also in the form of a tarp, It went up the walls about 3 feet and was taped to the 'tarp" on the walls, using a tape made for this application. The piers were wrapped with the same stuff and taped to seal the inside from the outside. the "floor" is also a vapor/moisture barrier, but, heavy enough to walk on if needed. This basically makes the crawlspace another room, rather than the outside. Our house is one year old and was already getting mold on the floor joists. Since the air in the crawlspace will now be heated in the winter and cooled in the summer, just like the rest of the house, the mold and cold (52 degrees) floors we experienced last winter will hopefully be eliminated. We shall see when dumb winter gets here."

Insulation questions, answered by experts

Terre Haute homeowners increasingly choose attic air sealing paired with high-performance insulation for year-round comfort and energy efficiency. Encapsulating crawl spaces with vapor barriers is gaining popularity to combat moisture and pests. Many opt for eco-friendly materials and hidden insulation upgrades, such as rigid foam behind finished walls. Fall installations are common, allowing homes to be winter-ready and maximizing energy savings before colder months arrive.

Helpful?

In Terre Haute, the effectiveness of insulation service projects depends on proper moisture control, high-quality air sealing, and choosing the right R-value for local climate extremes. Professional installation helps prevent gaps and settling, while routine attic and crawl space inspections help spot early signs of pest or moisture intrusion. Addressing these factors ensures insulation maintains its energy efficiency and durability over time.

Helpful?

For insulation service projects in Terre Haute, choose low-emission insulation materials and ensure all work areas are securely sealed with heavy-duty plastic barriers to prevent dust and debris from spreading. Schedule work when children and pets can be out of the house, especially during installation and cleanup. Afterward, ventilate the space thoroughly and inspect for any loose materials before allowing family members or pets to re-enter.

Helpful?

For Terre Haute homes, blown-in cellulose treated for mold and pests is excellent for attics, while fiberglass batts with integrated vapor barriers work well in walls. Closed-cell spray foam is ideal for sealing rim joists and crawl spaces, offering superior moisture resistance. Always use pest-resistant and mold-inhibiting products to address local humidity and insect concerns, and prioritize materials that improve indoor air quality.

Helpful?

When hiring insulation pros in Terre Haute, verify they have experience with local building codes and climate-specific challenges. Ask about their process for air sealing and moisture management, and request references from recent projects in your area. Ensure they carry proper insurance and participate in local energy efficiency programs. Avoid contractors who rush your decision or lack clear, detailed project plans.
